Our family has been going to Potomac Music since summer of 2024, when we moved to the area. Potomac Music was the first place my kids had consistently upon moving here, and the staff instantly made them feel like they had always belonged. We do recurring piano lessons with Mr. Martin and Mr. John, as well as regular participation in the Out-of-School-Camps with (the truly amazing) Ms. Danielle. The Summer Camps are particularly special due to the variety of activities, the engagement of all the staff in each individual kid (they know their personalities, likes and dislikes very well), as well as the educational aim of each day which can be piano, ukulele, etc. I cannot recommend Potomac Music enough for regular lessons or any of the Camps they offer!!

We have absolutely loved our experience with Potomac Music over the past two years. My grandbabies started at just 6 months and 1 year old, and the growth we’ve seen has been incredible. Their social interaction, fine motor skills, and imagination have all flourished—not only during class, but at home as well. We’re constantly playing pretend and incorporating what they’ve learned into our daily routines. Mrs. Marie is truly the heart of this experience. She is always engaged, positive, and full of energy, and the personal care she shows each child makes such a difference. The kids absolutely adore her and look forward to class every week. It’s clear she genuinely loves what she does, and it shows in how much the children connect with her. Everyone behind the scenes helps make each visit smooth and welcoming. From the moment you walk in, there’s a warm, organized, and supportive environment that makes families feel comfortable and cared for. While I know they’ll eventually age out of the Kindermusik program, I’m excited for what’s ahead, especially enrolling my older grandchild in the KeyNotes Group Piano program when she turns four. We truly love this place—it’s such a special program!

Both of my kids have taken lessons at Potomac Music over the last 7 years. My daughter took piano lessons and now does voice lessons with Marie Carlow who is fantastic, and my son as recently started electric guitar. We highly recommend Potomac Music for beginner instrument or voice lessons!

Kindermusik has been such a special part of our family’s life. My mom first started bringing my daughter to a Kindermusik playdate right after she turned one, and she signed up that same day. I always tell her that it was the best decision she ever made for our family. Now both of my kids attend weekly, and it has truly become the highlight of their week. One of my favorite things is seeing the bond that has grown between my mom and her grandkids through music. It’s so special watching them share that time together. Through Kindermusik, my kids have reached so many amazing milestones—gaining confidence, learning rhythm and movement, expanding their language skills through songs, and developing a true love for music. It’s incredible to watch how much they have grown. The entire community is so kind, welcoming, and inviting. From the moment you walk in, you feel like you belong. Marie is truly a superhero in our house! My kids get so excited for class and talk about her all the time. She has created such a meaningful connection with them, and I love seeing the strong relationship they’ve built with their music teacher. Marie has helped shape their confidence and nurture their love of music in a way that will stay with them forever. I will always be grateful for Marie and Kindermusik for giving our family such joyful memories and experiences. It truly means so much to us.

My daughter has been going to Potomac Music for over 3 years for voice and guitar lessons. Her voice teacher Marie Carlow is the BEST! She fosters individuality and corrections are done with positivity and encouragement. That said the MOST import thing needed from a voice teacher protecting her voice/vocal cords. She is also taking guitar lessons with Dan Horning and he is also an incredible teacher. She had a different teacher who left to go to school and loved her. She was so anxious about a new person and worried she would not like it as she tends to favor women over men in a teaching capacity. Dan has been a great match for my daughter. Her guitar skills continue to improve every week. Anyway, all this to say Potomac Music is amazing. They outgrew their old location and now have moved to Work House art center and it is beautiful. HIGHLY recommend. If I could give Marie and Dan ten stars I would. If you have a music loving child who wants lessons this is the ONLY place I recommend.
