Camp Rappahannock (formerly Camp Happyland) is The Salvation Army's 657-acre overnight camp on the Rappahannock River at Richardsville, Virginia, serving campers ages 7–17 since 1921. The 2026 season mixed traditional themed weeks (Jurassic Journey, for ages 7–12) with Teen Adventure Camp weeks run separately for girls and boys (ages 13–17) and a music track — a one-week MusiCamp for ages 8–17 and a month-long Music Conservatory for ages 12–17 ending in a graduation concert. Days follow a fixed schedule of flag ceremonies, two elective blocks, swim and recreation periods, an evening programme and vespers, with hiking, paddling, a climbing wall and archery on the grounds. Registration is handled through local Salvation Army units rather than on the website; the camp is ACA-accredited and a CCCA member.

Happyland became my summer home away from home until I was 21. Happyland was a life changing experience for me. If you have children let it be a life experience for them. I’m 59 when writing this and still credit Happyland to be a big part of my life experiences.
