The Overland experience is truly unique and special. As a leader in New England and Spain, I have had the wonderful opportunity to share two life-changing summers with the incredible Overland community. In an increasingly digitized world, Overland trips provide students and leaders the opportunity to take a step back and build lifelong connections in a technology free environment. With thoughtfully designed trips that are simultaneously safety and goal-focused with attainable challenges, each Overland experience allows students to grow as leaders and gain an appreciation for the wonderful communities that surround us in our stunning natural world. From practicing a foreign language in a remote village to cheering each other on as we tackle challenging trails together, every Overland trip has the potential to be a transformative experience for students and leaders alike. I can genuinely say that I am who I am today thanks to the amazing community that makes these experiences possible. I could not recommend Overland enough to prospective students, parents, and leaders!

My son has been on three Overland trips in the last three years. I can’t speak highly enough of this program. The trips are so well planned and organized. Parents are always kept up to date on what’s happening on the trip. My son went on each trip not knowing anyone and made close friendships on every trip. The trip leaders are wonderful and a few have become mentors to my son. The changes I’ve seen in my son are incredible. He emerged from each trip stronger emotionally and physically, bursting with self-confidence and pride, and has a deep love for the outdoors and challenges. We are so thankful for Overland.

My son had a truly wonderful time on the High Sierra Challenge. He really enjoyed both the other kids on the trip as well as the adult leadership- he had lots of opportunities to develop new skills in teamwork etc, as well as an amazing experience climbing Mt Shasta. Overland was everything that I could hope for on a trip like that— the weekly photos posted were expansive and gave me a glimpse of what the group were doing, and I knew my son was having a fantastic time because those pictures included his genuine smile. (Which any teen mother knows can be a precious and fleeting thing.). Highly recommend this — it was an investment, in terms of cost, but so worth it.

Our daughter LOVED her trip. This was the best one yet. (It was her fifth.) Overland's attention to detail is awesome. The leaders were fantastic and the office staff were incredibly helpful - relaying a birthday message to her sister and the help trying to track Morgan's swag (which was our mistake) was phenomenal. We love how comfortable we are placing Morgan in Overland's care for the last five summers. Picture drops days are the best days!

Our older daughters have always spoken about their Overland trips with excitement, respect, and a bit of reverence—so of course, their baby sister, was determined to have her turn. Overland did not disappoint. She came home tired, joyful, brimming with stories, breathtaking photos, and, of course, a bag of dirty, stinky laundry—all the things we’ve come to love about the experiences Overland creates for our children. I know there are other programs out there, but no one does it quite like Overland. Their values, combined with the quality and heart of their counselors, are what make it all so special.
