The Newman YMCA in Seekonk runs a YMCA of Greater Providence summer day camp built around water: campers swim, play water games and take on team challenges, alongside themed weeks with arts and crafts, musical theater, dance, science experiments and STEM projects. Camp runs weekly from June 22 to August 21 for children entering Kindergarten through Grade 8, with registration open to members and non-members; campers pack a bag lunch and spend most of the day outdoors. The branch grounds include a playground, ga-ga ball pit, archery range, low ropes course, gymnasium and a heated indoor pool. GPYMCA camps are ACA-accredited, income-based discounted rates are available, RI CCAP and MA PACE child care vouchers are accepted with extended-day fees included, and the Y makes reasonable accommodations for campers with disabilities.

Powered by GoogleNot sure where these other people are going, but this is a very friendly Y. The weight room is small, but fellow people working out are always willing to let you work in. During the summer, they even had an employee pacing the equipment, making sure everything is kept tidy. The basketball court has a brand new surface that is well marked and even for playing. There is a sauna, plenty of showers and a four lane pool. The lane with the special needs lift is always reserved for children and the disabled. I have no problem bringing my young children and leaving them in the care of a well trained professional while I work out.
I enjoy the pool for lap swim.
I used to go to this YMCA before they remodeled their layout. The workout room was very spacious and had a lot of machines. Now, the workout is a little small and only has several machines, as they swapped it with the dance room. Sometimes, it can be tricky to work out since you have to wait for the machine to be released, or there may be someone waiting for it. Their pool is not an olimpic size one. It's a little smaller, and it doesn't have a deep side.. They still have all the benefits you get with any YMCA, though.
Love our swimming courses and instructor!
Extremely rude staff, incompetant "life guard" on her phone during the whole family swim time, will not allow guests.
