Powered by GoogleI'm not sure. How long has this camp been running? Anyone? Because I only remember going to summer camp when I was about 6 or 7 maybe? Oh, and I'm really wondering if this was the one I went too as "Camp Fosket" sounds incredibly familiar from a long time ago. If this was the camp, as I recall, it was one of the best summers of my life. Coming from NYC, I'd not seen much for nature. And we were in the woods, woods. In assigned cabins as I recall. There were bunkhouse inspections in the morning, with the best bunkhouse going to breakfast first plus other perks. Our bunkhouse was first almost every morning. Back then it had hints of military, like making bunks to pass inspection, 5 am wake up, but it was made to be fun and educational. But mostly, I remember it being the most positive, friendly and safe space. A far cry from my home in violent, war torn, 1970's Brooklyn slums. Wow. It would be cool if this is where I went 45-50 years ago to summer camp I vividly remember. We shall see....
I was a little kid maybe around 8 years old and I got bullied there, being a little kid not knowing whats good or bad I fought back, I hit my bully (his name was Dominic or something) and i was the one punished, even after all the other kids saw this boy hurt me! I got comforted by a young staff, which was the only good thing that happend. Then was sent to sit in the camp office or something for hours with nothing to do while every ignored me and talked about me like i wasnt there! if i could give this 0 starts i would. DO NOT SEND UR KIDS HERE! itll truamatize them and teach them not to defend themself.
I went to this camp about 7 years ago. It was summer time and I was super overworked and hot and forgot water, and EVERY staff member refused to give me water simply because I forgot mine. Mind you I was 10. I was laying on the grass losing breaths and crying because I was so dehydrated. 10/10 do NOT recommend sending your kids here.
My kids go here every year. Staff are all welcoming, Kids have a great time. Wish I came here as a kid. But made it happen for my kids. Great location.
Camp Foskett’s summer program is awesome. My granddaughter went last year and loved it. She can’t wait to return this summer.
