Our coach was okay, but he didn’t challenge the girls enough and did not give much constructive feedback or corrections. We were surprised at the extremely poor skill level of some of the girls who made it on the team when they tried out. We realized they’ll take anyone as long as they’re willing to pay the tuition. This club is all about the money it seems. We lost almost every game. We had a new coach at the end who was much better at challenging and correcting, but she came too late. There was extremely poor communication regarding schedules and tournaments. Overall our experience was not worth the money we paid, and so we will not be returning for another season.

As a parent, finding a club that supports, challenges, and genuinely cares about athletes is incredibly important, and that has been our experience here. Our daughter has grown tremendously as both a player and a teammate during her time with the club. The coaches have pushed the athletes to improve while also building confidence and encouraging teamwork. Unfortunately, youth sports can sometimes bring outside negativity or emotionally driven opinions, and not every perspective shared publicly reflects the full picture or the experiences of all families involved. We’ve appreciated that the club has remained focused on the athletes, their development, and creating opportunities for them to succeed rather than getting pulled into distractions or personal conflicts. Our experience has been overwhelmingly positive, and we’re thankful to be part of a program that continues to invest in its players both on and off the court.

We had a very disappointing experience this season. Over the course of the season, the team went through three different coaches. While we understood that situations change, this was very disruptive for the girls. As parents, we stayed supportive and trusted the club to manage things appropriately, but there was little communication or effort to bring parents together or address concerns directly. Most updates were handled through general emails. The team was also placed at the National level, but based on the results throughout the season, they were not competitive at that level. Many matches were extremely one-sided, which had a clear impact on the girls’ confidence and morale. It raised concerns about whether the team was placed at the appropriate level from the start. More concerning was the coaching environment toward the end of the season. Our daughter shared repeated examples of comments that felt personal and not constructive, which ultimately led us to withdraw her from the team before the final tournament. We communicated our concerns respectfully via email but never received a response. Instead, we were removed from team communications without any acknowledgment. At this price point, we expected a much more supportive, organized, and communicative environment. Based on this experience, we would not choose this club again.

Pay attention to the negative reviews. This club incentivizes parents to leave positive reviews so you don't get a full picture of what to expect based on those. I would not recommend MVP Volleyball Club based on our experience this season on the 13s team. Like many families, we invested significant time and money expecting a structured, developmental program. What we experienced instead was disorganization, poor communication, and decision making that directly undermined the players. The team placement process alone raised serious concerns. The feedback we received about my daughter’s skills was completely inaccurate and did not reflect her actual performance, which calls into question how evaluations are conducted and how placement decisions are made. I honestly think they had her mixed up with another young lady during evaluations. Even several of the girls were confused on how they made the teams they did. Ex. I spoke to several players who thought girls who made lower teams would have made the more elite team over them. Crazy! From there, communication was consistently inconsistent and unclear. At the start of the season, there was confusion about who the coach even was, including among staff. That lack of organization continued throughout the season. The most frustrating moment was the decision to merge teams without notifying parents and right before the first tournament. Players were thrown into a completely new team dynamic with no preparation, and the result was an overcrowded roster with a wide range of skill levels and not enough coaching support. It was chaotic and did nothing to support player development. This was never resolved throughout the season which led to the girls being frustrated tournament after tournament. Even more concerning was how a disciplinary situation involving my daughter was handled. She was penalized based on a complaint that was never substantiated, with no evidence provided and no transparency despite requests. Also, the complaint had nothing to do with my daughter at all, but a guest in the audience at her game. That level of disregard for fairness and due process is unacceptable when dealing with young athletes. To be fully transparent, I previously left a five star review after being encouraged to do so. That review did not reflect our actual experience, and I am correcting it now so other families have an honest perspective. Overall, this program did not deliver on its promises. The gap between how MVP presents itself and what it actually provides is significant. It's possible that the experience is completely different based on the age group. Or that this was just a tough season for the 13s age group. However, I believe that families should be aware before making the investment.

My daughter has played with MVP Volleyball for 2 seasons (14s Regionals and 15s Nationals). The MVP Volleyball Club is a great intro to elite/ competitive club play, not to overwhelming if your athlete is new to club play.
