★★Robert BarnesNot a bad place but the maintenance team is very ornery about the sauna... Proper health benefits of a sauna do not start until 170° is reached. They firmly hold their sauna at 160° while claiming they fluctuate it between 160° and 170°. After going here for months now I can confirm this is not true. If you are not in a 170° room for 20 minutes then you are not gaining the full health benefits triggered by using a sauna. These benefits include lowered stress levels, improved blood flow and pressure, and a lowered risk of dementia and Alzheimer's. I do not sauna to feel warm. I sauna to be healthy. I do not understand why it is such a battle to ask to receive what I am paying $90/month for.
★★Allie SmithWe came here for a birthday party as a guest recently and I cant say we were impressed. The building seems super old and in need of some upgrades. The party room was way too small for the number of guests for the party, most parents stood to eat. We all were on top of eachother, having to "exuse me" every two seconds any time you wanted to get from one side of the room to the other. The walls were caked in food. I noticed when taking pictures the "splatter" marks all over the wall. The staff there was nice enough, but the people at the pool looked like they did not want to be there lol. The building just felt like an "odd" place and set up. Im not sure if the green room we were put in is their usual party room but it was a super uncomfortable space and I do not recommend having your party there if you plan to have a big amount of guests.
★★Liam GallagherGreat gym, was a member a few times over the years. Decided to cancel back in August. However, noticed I was still getting charged back in November. Went back in person and again filled out the cancelation form. As of this review it is January and im still getting charged the $56 a month fee, 5 months after I originally canceled. My advice for those who eventually cancel, take a photo of the cancelation form or ask for a copy.
★★★★★Eric DeMaioMy review is mostly about the pre-school/daycare. I cannot say enough great things about this facility and the people that work there. They do a great job with our kids. It's a loving environment with lots of opportunities to play and learn. They do arts and crafts, story time, swimming lessons, visits from fire and police departments, etc. My son loves his teachers and loves going to preschool. I'm so happy it's been such a great experience. The rest of the YMCA is also awesome. staff is very friendly, building is well maintained, and there always seems to be a lot of activities going on.
★★★★Alison ParkhurstI'm a newer member and so far my experience has been great! I'm still exploring all that the Y has to offer, which is why I don't mind that it costs more than a typical gym. It's not a typical gym. The staff are very helpful and friendly. They make it easier to go in on days that you initially didn't feel like going but feel immediately better walking through the doors. I do hope there are building upgrades soon. The locker rooms especially could use some updating.
