Lafayette Tennis Club (LTC/HGTA) runs summer tennis camps for ages 5-16 plus a Pee Wee camp for ages 3-5, led by the club's USPTA-certified tennis director and coaching staff and focused on stroke fundamentals taught through structured games and drills. Morning camp runs 9:30am to 12:30pm and afternoon camp 1:30 to 3:30pm; an all-day option runs 9:30am to 3:30pm and adds Friday swimming in the heated pool and optional midweek pickleball. Camp is held at the club's courts on Camino Diablo Road in Lafayette.

★Sejal PatelParents of young players please Read- Very poor tournament experience – unprofessional and frustrating We recently participated in a junior tournament at Lafayette Tennis Club, and it was one of the most frustrating and poorly managed experiences we’ve had in youth tennis. As a parent of an 8-year-old player, I was shocked by how disorganized and unprofessional the entire event was. Matches were delayed for hours with no clear communication. There was no accountability from the organizers, no updates for parents, and absolutely no respect for our time or the players’ needs. Kids were left waiting around in the heat with zero guidance or structure. It was chaotic and clearly showed a lack of planning and care. Even worse, the staff seemed either overwhelmed or indifferent — not once did we feel that our concerns were being heard. The environment was far from supportive or encouraging, especially for young kids just starting out in competitive tennis. Many other parents we spoke with had similar complaints, which sadly matched the negative Google reviews we had seen before. We had hoped those reviews were exaggerated, but they were spot on. This club needs a serious overhaul in how it runs its tournaments and how it treats families. We will not be coming back and cannot recommend this place to anyone who values professionalism or a positive experience for young players.
★MDK KPoorly run youth tournaments. They offer frequent events but the one slacker guy running the event would show up late each day and “forgot to tell us” when an opponent cancelled his match. We had to wait an extra 90 min @ the end of an already long day at this horrid facility. All the stories about bathrooms, seating and parking are true. They pack in big numbers of entrants but can’t manage them. Stay away!!
★Jennifer TangWe went there for a kids’ USTA tournament and were not allowed to sit in the ‘club house’ while waiting for the kids. And the club house itself was literally just a mobile modular. Those courts overlapped with pickle ball markings are so confusing and shouldn’t be used for matches.
★Devin RedmondI have to say I agree with other reviewers who have had a sub-par experience. This is quite a strange place with portable trailers serving as a clubhouse, which we are apparently not allowed to use to watch our kids’ tennis matches. We’re here for a 4-hour USTA event and all the parents are standing on the gravel in the parking lot because staff will not allow anyone to sit in the 30 chairs in the elevated viewing area. There also appear to be various unfinished construction projects going on (maybe remnants of the facilities that burned in the fire a couple years ago?) including a grading project with rebar sticking out of the hillside. In my opinion, the USTA should find somewhere else to host their junior events.
