SBA Tennis & Pickleball · Private

SBA Tennis & Pickleball is an instructional tennis and pickleball provider that runs weekly summer camps in Cupertino, mostly at the Valley Church tennis courts; it explicitly does not rent courts for public play. Tennis camps are split into Red Ball groups for ages 4-6 and Rising Stars groups for ages 7-16, and a pickleball camp series runs four weeks of the summer. Sessions run in one-week blocks from mid-June through mid-August and are open to the public, with stacking discounts for early registration, enrolling in multiple weeks, and bringing a buddy or family member. Daily camp hours are not listed on the camp page.

Brandon gave our 8 person team a pickleball teambuilding session. It was great! He was a great instructor and made the whole thing fun. Would highly recommend and hope to do it again!

My team at work rented 3x pickleball courts through Brandon for a last minute offsite. We opted out of coaching instruction. Communicating with Brandon was smooth and quick. We were scheduling within a week of the planned event. Brandon was not present for the event, but provided clear instructions on how to find the space and where equipment (rented balls and paddles) would be left for us. On the day of, he checked in and was very flexible with us when we had some delays to our own schedule. I’ve docked 1 star from my review due to the quality of the courts. I was taken by surprise because I did not realize that we’d be playing on a repurposed parking area with temporary nets. The facility has 1x port-a-potty and no running water. I provided feedback to Brandon about my surprise and slight disappointment. I was really pleased that Brandon was receptive to the feedback and offered thoughtful ideas on how both communication and physical court conditions could be improved for others in the future. We were still able to have a great time, I’d recommend these courts for casual pickleball events!

We took several semi-private adult lessons with SBA tennis recently and the experience was great. We mainly followed coach Jovan and he is very professional - he corrected mistakes properly and gave important instructions for us as beginners. Coach Josh was very friendly and energetic, who gave us a lot of encouragement during training. We did not had direct lessons with Brandon but he helped us a lot on arranging schedule. All of them are friendly and would definitely recommend this business.

My 11-year-old son and I have been taking private group tennis lessons with Coach Brandon. He is really great at explaining things in a way that's easy to understand both conceptually and practically. My son says: "Brandon is a really nice person and can teach very well. He explains things well."

I just completed a 5-wk beginners pickleball lesson through Brandon Sodos over at Kevin Moran Park (Saratoga). If you or someone you know are interested in the sport, I highly recommend contacting Brandon for lessons. Over the course of 5 weeks, Brandon’s clinic went over the objective of the game, serving, scoring, positioning, control, and other drills that help build-up skill set. Brandon also rotated his group, so everyone was able to get 1:1 time with him. Questions were encouraged and if you needed more help in a specific area, Brandon would walk over that part again. Brandon was a wonderful coach and, towards the end of his 5-wk class, I was able to use the skills taught to me to confidently play doubles with friends.
