I feel the need to set the record straight regarding the pool incident from the other night, as I was present in the pool area with my family and witnessed everything firsthand. I have been a long time YMCA member, and in all my years there, I have never seen anyone behave the way this woman did towards a YMCA employee. She verbally attacked the staff member without justification, using extremely aggressive and inappropriate language. Her behavior was completely out of control. Throughout the entire incident, the YMCA employee did absolutely nothing wrong - they remained calm, professional, and exercised remarkable strength while being verbally assaulted. That level of professionalism deserves recognition, not punishment. What made the situation even more upsetting was that her own daughter was crying and pleading, saying, "Mommy, please don't, not hear," which strongly suggested this child has been exposed to this kind of behavior before. It was heartbreaking to witness. I felt so badly for the YMCA employee that I contacted the YMCA the following day to check on them and to report what I had seen. During that conversation, I learned about several recent Google reviews obviously all posted by the same individual, apparently posing as another parent to try and give relevance to her crazy story. Knowing what I witnessed, it is impossible to believe that anybody present that night could come away with a different conclusion about what actually happened. This person is obviously lying. Shame on you for then taking the attack online and targeting an employee who showed nothing but professionalism and self-control in an extremely hostile situation by you. The language used by you that night was shocking and completely unacceptable, especially in a family environment, and I sincerely hope I never have to hear anything like it again. The YMCA is a privilege, not a right, and behavior like this has no place there. I truly hope the YMCA takes appropriate action to protect both its employees and its members from individuals like yourself. I am posting this to defend the YMCA after witnessing the incident firsthand and after reading the misleading review that was posted. Shame on you, whoever you are. I genuinely hope you reflect on your actions and make changes so your child never has to experience another situation like that again.

I dont usually write reviews, but this deserved one. My child came home tonight upset after an experience here. There was a dispute involving my child because her mother brought her into the women’s locker room, not realizing kids couldn’t come in there with her. A staff member who I’ve been told is named Laci made a scene in front of my child about the rule. I fully respect that businesses have policies, but at the end of the day, this involved my kid. It did not need to turn into something that intense. What concerns me is how all of the staff handled it. Instead of keeping things calm and under control, the situation escalated in front of my child to the point where she became scared and started crying. That’s where I have an issue. Kids shouldn’t be put in the middle of something like that, especially over something that could have been handled quietly and respectfully. There’s a way to enforce rules without creating a scene or making a child feel unsafe or upset. That didn’t happen here. I am against situations being handled in a way that turns into something bigger than it needs to be, especially when my child is directly affected. I hope the YMCA takes a closer look at how situations like this are handled moving forward because this disgusts me.

Recently, I took a tour of the facility. I was disappointed by the guide, who seemed to be totally disinterested in showing us around. I was previously at this gym but left. I took a tour to see if my interest would be renewed. On my first tour, the guide was very attentive, and showed us every room. This most recent tour? Barely entered any of the rooms- only the major ones. They also flaunt the lap pool as a major feature- but as another review posted, the pool is rarely ever open. Only from 5am - 12pm which is when most folks are asleep or at work. Then the pool is closed from 3pm to 8pm for Swim Team? I... dont see how that's justified. I used to be on a swim team for 10 years. Both for children and for adults. You share lanes. The maximum space we ever took up was 3 lanes but had 2 hours of practice for each skill level. 6 hours! But the rest of the pool was open for swimmers! They also dont let guest use the blocks, only the swim team. What if you're a competitive swimmer? What then? Is there an adult team? They need to revamp their tours, and change their hours.
