Jersey City PAL runs a nine-week summer day camp at the JCPAL Center, 163 Old Bergen Rd, for boys and girls ages 6 to 14, from late June through the end of August. Days run Monday to Friday 7:00am to 4:30pm with aftercare available, and combine sports, swimming, field trips, STEM, arts and crafts with mentorship from Jersey City police officers and experienced camp counselors. The camp is priced to be affordable for local families on a monthly commitment, and financial assistance is available through a sponsorship programme.

Powered by GoogleI highly recommend JC PAL. It’s an incredible program that is both affordable and truly impactful for families in the community. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure every child feels safe, heard, and supported. They offer a wide range of activities that keep kids engaged, active, and having fun in a positive environment. What stands out most is the level of care—they treat the children as if they were their own. As a working parent, having that peace of mind is invaluable. I know my child is not only safe, but genuinely cared for every single day.
Pal has been such a blessing to me and my family. My son Jamal has been going there for years and not only does Pal help you with tutoring and fun activities, but they also help build confidence as young men and women. Mr. E. helps the boys understand the meaning of how to grow into a responsible young man and Mrs. Myesha is there to make sure the program is welcoming and fun for all the children. She invests so much time to make sure no kid is left out or behind matter what. Pal is not just an after school/ summer program, but a family. Pal is a safe haven for children in this crazy world, and everyone is welcome. They partner with different organizations to make sure the children have an unforgettable experience. Every year they make sure the kids have toys during Christmas, hot meals for Thanksgiving, fun time during Valetine’s day and many, many more. I will always recommend Pal to any parents that look for a safe place for their children to be themselves, feel valued, and loved. I can never repay them for all they have done for our family, and I am so blessed to have them in my life.
I was introduced to the Jersey City Police Activity League about four years ago, and it has truly been a blessing for my family. During a very difficult time in my life, they became a source of support, community, and stability. Their after-school program is outstanding, and their summer camp is phenomenal—but what really stands out is the genuine care and dedication they show to every child and family. I’m incredibly grateful to be part of this village and proud to support an organization that gives so much to the community.
I’m happy to share my experience so far with the PAL program. My daughter Aubree and I recently joined about two weeks ago, and from the very beginning, we felt incredibly welcomed. Walking in, we were a bit nervous, but that quickly changed. The environment immediately felt warm, supportive, and family-oriented. Since joining, I’ve seen how much care and intention goes into this program. The mentorship, afterschool support, arts and crafts, and overall team environment have already made a positive impact. What really stood out to me was how both Myesha and Mr. E took the time to guide us, explain available resources, and ensure we understood how to fully benefit from the program. I especially appreciate the support and information they provided regarding afterschool options, as I was navigating some challenges. That level of care and willingness to help meant a lot to me as a parent. This program is not only affordable, but it also provides real value through guidance, structure, and genuine support for both children and families. Aubree already feels comfortable and supported, and as a parent, that gives me peace of mind. Overall, this has been a great experience so far. Myesha and Mr. E truly make families feel welcomed, valued, and appreciated. We’re grateful to be part of this community and are looking forward to continuing this journey. Thank you. Sandy
The programs offered here, along with the dedication and encouraging words of the staff, are truly exceptional. My children are currently enrolled in the basketball program with Coach Seath, and they thoroughly enjoy both him and the program. This marks their second year of participation in this program. Thanks a bunch to the team for all their awesome contributions to the community.
