Powered by GoogleOur family has been members of Inverness pool since our kiddos were 5 years old or so, and we couldn't imagine a summer without it. As a few others have noted, there is a strong sense of community and the general ambiance is relaxed and welcoming. The basketball courts are top notch and the ping pong, BBQ grills, modern playgrounds, tennis courts, social hours for adults, raft night, and of course the swim team are all among the many bonuses that we enjoy. Nothing like the early bird swim options or the summer sunset evenings at this little bit of paradise in Potomac.
We have been members of IRC since we moved here in 2015. We are so glad we joined. It is a great meeting spot to get together with friends in the neighborhood and meet new people. Our kids can bike there, and it is a good way for them to find some friends to hang out with without planning ahead. The staff and members are friendly and engaged in making the pool a great community. They worked hard to keep the pool open and accessible during the quarantine last summer, while keeping it safe. In addition to swim team and tennis, our son has really enjoyed the water-polo clinic that started up a couple of years ago.
We have been members of multiple pools in the area and came back to IRC. The top reason was the relaxed and laid back atmosphere at this pool. Other great features are: Perfect combination of sun & shade Multiple Grills to use on the pool deck Many active tennis players & league Ample Parking The only pool with no bond or initiation fee Toddler pool
Prior to joining IRC we were members at another local pool. We wanted more of a sense of community and a place for our kids to have fun with friends. We found that at IRC and have been members for years, as it is an inviting and welcoming community. I enjoy an early morning swim before work, tennis now and then, and gathering in the afternoons with my family and friends at the pool to enjoy the summer and relax. The pool is well-kept, large and has two diving boards that are an endless source of fun for kids and adults. Good people and good times.
IRC is a family-friendly recreation club within a great community. I love that my kids can play with their classmates all summer long (and I can socialize with my friends too.) The pool is kept clean and the lifeguards are attentive. There is plenty of parking as well as sidewalks to safely bike, walk, skateboard, or scooter to the pool. The swim team is fun and I love seeing the kids cheer on their teammates of all ages. There are a variety of activities to do besides swim: play table tennis, basketball, swing or do flips on the playground equipment, soccer in the field, and tennis.
