Nice facility, but SUPER old equipment. I tried going to the spin class here, and was met with bikes that look like they are from the 1980's, and hardly work. No one into spin class can take this seriously. It's a shame because it is a nice new facility, but is filled with old equipment. It also seems that the classes are geared towards an older population. I assume this is the case with Sun City down the street. Not very challenging classes for middle aged folks.

WMCA is a nice facility — it is clean, cozy, and offers a wide variety of activities for families and children. The environment itself is welcoming and well-maintained. However, my experience as a parent of a child with special needs was disappointing. I found the staff to be unaccommodating when it came to supporting children with autism. It felt like they expected special needs children to behave exactly like typical children, which can be unrealistic and discouraging for families like mine. I originally became a member hoping to have a few minutes to myself while my child was in the child watch area. Unfortunately, that never happened. I was repeatedly asked to return to the child watch area every few minutes, which made it very stressful and defeating rather than supportive. I truly hope WMCA can improve training and understanding around special needs children so all families can feel welcome and supported.

Jenn I do not appreciate your condescending sarcastic, dismissive attitude. I have been been a member for 8 years now...NEVER have I experienced such negativity here at the Y.... EVERYONE is so sweet and kind...but today??? Jenn at the front desk today SEVERELY LACKING in customer service skills. I came in for my workout and got on one of the four stairmasters upstairs only to find out that it wasn't working...tried another one next to it and that wasn't working either and the other two were being used. There was no sign on the machines so I went downstairs to let them know. I told Jenn at the front desk that two out of the four stairmasters weren't working and her response was " YESSSSS???"... looking at me as if I was bothering her with a very long pause and then I said to her "That's it?" Jen's answer at that point was... "well we have someone checking on it periodically soooooo" I then asked Jennifer if she would at least put a couple of signs on the machines to let people know they aren't working....and again her answer was and only a very large pause with a very, very, sarcastic and condescending answer to my question. I was doing her a favor to let her know that there was an issue. Tell me if I'm wrong but at $85 a month for my husband and I ,mind you we do not have children so it's just us. Jenn could be a lot kinder.... the YMCA is not doing any one a favor by having her as the happy face when you first walk in or have an issue that needs attention. She didn't do anything about the situation. SMH. I was dismissed. We need people who like their jobs!

There is now an 18+ workout area. It’s has plenty of dumbbells in weight up to 100 lbs, 3 squat racks and multiple pulley stations. There are a few bench press stations as well. This is good because upstairs workout area is small and gets crowded. It feels like you will drop a weight on someone using a tricep extension/pull down machine. Pool is nice because there is enough room for open swim and classes. 2 basketball courts with 6 total goals. There used to be pick up runs but I am unsure if that is still coordinated because I went on a holiday weekend.

New YMCA in Indian Land next to the Publix Grocery Store. Tremendous facility featuring a large Pool,Exercise Room, Gymnasium, Child Care and Aerobics/Yoga studios. Gorgeous and highly functional. Staff is warm and welcoming. A great community addition.
