Powered by GoogleHey yall!!! I’m baaack!!!!! Visited the Harris YMCA-Quail Hollow today!!! Get into this!! I hadn’t been here in several years however facility somewhat the same … although I feel like the large workout area has been up fitted( not sure )…. It’s your “typical stranger danger” personalities from the clientele … everybody is about their workout this morning so not much friendliness from the crowd. Back in the Day at the DOWD we were making workout friends from the first visit . Not here. An occasional peek, or the “ tight lipped smile” …. Or the “ what are you doing here?” Look….or “ don’t start none and it won’t be none “stare….🤣🤣 It was cool. The parking is vast … and available this is a pretty large campus with the Ykids wing. Indoor upstairs track and a super large soccer mom workout room. Free weights and benches , a couple row machines, treadmills and ellipticals up there too…. Same in the large room downstairs. I was in the large room during my visit last time . Aquatic center /sauna/steamroom Upgraded lockers /adult locker room / family locker room… I spent my two hours and kept it pushing 💯 The staff , seated at the front where you scan your barcode , was friendly … she said good morning and smiled about my NEW ORLEANS SAINTS hat😊…. I couldn’t figure out if she was clowning me or not …. My team did just win a game last weekend…. Our exchange tickled me🤣 Another gentleman to her left also seated at a little podium like space was greeting everybody very warmly…. As if he knew those were the ONLY HELLOS that would be received during my visit. Can’t do anything about the guests that frequent this location … and that’s ok… The facility was nice. There’s Enough equipment to do what you need to do whether you’re a weightlifter at the Mr universe level or just doing your thirty minutes on a treadmill. Ladies you can even do the locker room treadmill or elliptical thing here like we did at the DOWD years ago…. Also there a a couple of easy chairs in the locker room… iron and ironing board… tv… magazines … great cool off … send email space. This was a great visit . Thank you HarrisYMCA!!! Finding lunch from this location is very easy… You could hit southpark mall or surrounding restaurants… Steak 48 isn’t far either. That’s my review Enjoy yourself! Let’s go EAT!!! #itsMeStef🙋🏾♀️ Stephanie.mclain@ig
Charles Treadaway – Harris YMCA Circuit Training / EGym ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Charles Treadaway is exactly the kind of instructor that makes the Harris YMCA special. His Circuit Training class using EGym is thorough, well-structured, and accessible to members at every fitness level. He takes the time to make sure everyone understands the equipment and feels confident with the program — no one gets left behind. What sets Charles apart is the way he makes every person feel like they genuinely belong. He embodies the warmth and inclusivity that the YMCA was built on, and it shows in how he engages with each member. Walking into his class feels like being welcomed into a community, not just a gym. If you’re looking for a knowledgeable, encouraging instructor who truly cares about your progress and your experience, Charles is the one. The Harris Y is lucky to have him
I recently completed a 4-session Personal Trainer package at the Harris YMCA. I needed a boost in my workout routine and this turned out to be a great way to do it. My trainer introduced me to all the equipment at the facility as well as tips on reps and mixing cardio with weight work. It has definitely jump started my weekly routines and I wholeheartedly recommend it!
I’ve been an active member of the Harris Y since 1993! My kids played sports and went to camp there and loved it. I’ve done just about every workout class as well as worked with an awesome personal trainer. The staff is consistently nice and helpful (I feel like I’m going to Cheers every morning- where everyone knows my name!). I really like the group exercise classes and teachers as well. I’m in my mid 60s, and I believe my health and fitness level are absolutely due to my consistent use of the Harris Y. Incidentally, I’ve also gotten involved through there many volunteer activities, so if you’re looking to become more connected to the community- check that out too!
The outside area for exercise is good
