People at the desk are friendly. Location is easy to find. I only have been in the basketball court. Clean facility, well maintained.

Huge Recreation center with well maintained play areas and lots of community focused activities and programs. Mecklenburg county has maintained this rec center very well and have benefited the residents in many ways.

I pulled both my children out of swim lessons due to the instructor, Laura’s difference of attitude towards my children. She always treated my son (6 y.o) with a lack of enthusiasm and patience. It got so bad that I pulled him out in the middle of class. They were disorganized, understaffed, and the pool was over crowded that day. Her attitude that day was particularly off-putting, I had enough. Make sure you pay attention to your children when they’re being taught. Staff is sometimes inattentive, especially the the junior lifeguards they sometimes have teaching toddlers. I watched my daughter get told to swim the end of the pool. Both instructors turned their backs before making sure she got out safely. Her being confused, she swam back to them. They looked shocked and ashamed.

I love coming here for swimming. The staff is always professional and courteous. The pool is clean warm and the lifeguards are watchful and polite, they monitor everyone’s safety. Great recreation center you can purchase a membership or get a day pass.

I’ve been coming to Marion Diehl Recreation Center for a while now, and it truly is one of Charlotte’s hidden gems! The facility is spacious, clean, and offers something for everyone — whether it’s swimming, working out, pickleball, walking trails, or fitness classes. The water aerobics and pool programs are especially great, and the instructors are not only knowledgeable but also make the classes fun and encouraging. The staff is always welcoming, and there’s a great community feel here. I also appreciate how affordable everything is — day passes and the MeckPass make it really accessible. It’s a great place for seniors, families, and anyone looking to stay active without the big gym crowds. Only small downside is that the gym doesn’t have air conditioning, which can make workouts a bit tough during the hotter months. But the variety of programs, clean environment, and supportive atmosphere more than make up for it. Highly recommend if you're in the Charlotte area and looking for a quality, community-centered recreation space!
