Hat Creek Camp, a ministry of FIVE18 Family Services, is a Christian overnight camp on more than 350 wooded acres near Brookneal, centered on discipleship and personal growth. It offers three residential camps: Junior Camp for rising 3rd-5th graders, Youth Camp for rising 6th-8th, and Teen Camp for rising 9th-12th, with canoeing and boating on Lake Shalom, swimming, archery, hiking and games. All summer staff are trained in trauma-informed care.

My phone worked in the middle of NOWHERE and they had WiFi - shocking. The meals were simple and had gluten-free options. But the STAFF was what set it apart. I am overtly Christian. The conference wasn't. The staff wasn't -- but you could tell that they were. The feeling that I got from everyone I dealt with was "yes, I can do that for you," very relaxed and very meek/mild. We had a fabulous time - highly recommend.
