We did swim lessons for our 3 kids here and it was phenomenal. Our olders kids learned how to dive and strengthen the their skills, and our youngest learned how to be brave and get comfortable swimming without floaties. Henry and Evan were patient and really great instructors!

Staff is wonderful, issues are cleanliness And maintenance. Shower walls and doors gave mold and dirt and there is, and has been black mold (or what sure looks like black mold) on the ceiling of the gym.

If you sign up your teenager for volleyball, steer away from coach Glenda Chauncey / Team Fusion unless your kid is VERY EXPERIENCED. That coach either plays favorites or just does not know how to sub. Might need an assistant. She might be better suited to coach at schools/club where they play to win versus important life values and discipline. We paid for the spring season, about 7 games, 1 hour each. If my kid played 30 minutes (out of the 420 minutes) the ENTIRE season, that was a lot. Went to every practice and games which are first thing Saturday mornings and she played 1/3 of the season. We reached out to her superiors several times who tried to help BY TALKING without success. Players Kevin and Heidi barely left the floor...The Y will move your kid to another team instead of swapping the coach. So forget about your kid building friendships. Coach has neglected to play a total of 3 players who are obviously very eager to play and learn. She has plenty of time to substitute but will simply not do it. She had told the kids that she is sorry but she has to play the more experienced players...who does that!??? Dont waste your time choosing that team/coach. The YMCA site says they allow all levels of experience. When it comes to this particular coach, though, that is entirely FALSE. Saddens me because there are no other places in this area offering brief volleyball for busy kids unless it's club which is ridiculously expensive and the schedules are rigid. It's also very sad that this coach teaching poor sportsmanship and self confidence. She seems like a nice human, but coaching just isn't her forte!

I have been a member since 1995. For over 17 years I have done yoga asanas, balance exercises in my barefoot. I have never lifted a free weight or used a machine without shoes. I have been complimented many times by staff, instructors & trainers. Today a person who has been on this earth for less time than I have been a member tells me I can't do floor exercises without shoes. Funny people use equipment without wiping it down, sit on machines talking on the phone snd do multiple reps while others wait. There is a reason membership has fallen over 30 years. Today no Y instructor is on the floor. What happens when a member gets hurt. Another member helps. I don't believe your response addressed the issue of staffing. Is it your opinion that a staff member at the front desk would be able to perform CPR on a member who has a heart attack or could respond if a member were to fall or faint is sufficient time?? I have personally witnessed 3 times when a member has needed attention and all 3 times a staff member was on the floor and not at the front desk. Twice Emts responded to the occurence. I do not believe the liabilty issue a person barefoot working on floor exercises could possibly be the same if the Y did not respond in a timely manner to a person needing CPR, treating an injury that could get worse while the closest staff member is at the FRONT DESK. I would love to hear the Y's defense when a suit is filed by Morgan & Morgan or Dan Newlin We will agree to disagree. I will continue working on my health and challenging myself both physically and mentally. I would suggest looking around and know your competition. I have watched many friends and former members choose other health facilities to workout. I doubt too many others have stayed loyal for 30 years. Sad but, I can assure Y that 2026 will be my last year.

The YMCA has become a safe place for me over the last few years of being a member. After working here in college, it only felt right to come back when I wanted a gym membership. And it’s felt like home ever since! The classes have been so much fun to be apart of. It’s something that allows me to get out of the house for, and as a SAHM it’s so wonderful. I’ve now been able to put my child into the daycare, which is full circle to my journey at the YMCA. You know what they say, you always find your way back home!
