My little girl loved this place. She went her for girls camp and she looked forward going to girls camp every day. The staff was very friendly and excited to be there. I daughter will be going again next year.

Horrible customer service! Do not use! Decided not to rent this space after the experience we had with the manager (Melissa Wolf) and the CEO (Sue Perles). Could not answer our questions in regards to their alcohol use agreement in their newly updated contract. They gladly accepted our deposit without mention of the additional $2000 fees included in the new contract, which was listed on the very LAST page of their 13 page agreement. We were given this paperwork AFTER we payed the deposit to secure out date. During our tour of the facility, we inquired about being able to serve alcohol at our wedding reception. We were only told that beer and wine were permitted and had to remain within 150 ft of the building, but nothing of the other excessive requirements and fees. The contract requires tenants to hire licensed and bonded security guards (1 for every 50 guests), to obtain general liability insurance for the building and property, to provide a list of the names of each and every guest in attendance, and the names and numbers of designated drivers and an "alcohol use monitor" that must remain present on the premises. GSAK was unable to provide us with any information or references for obtaining the required security guards. They advertise an a la carte pricing menu (e.g., fee for main lodge, fee for kitchen, etc.). However, there is no explanation for the additional $1000 fee and additional $1000 deposit for having alcohol. Our emails were not returned and questions left unanswered. When we called both the manager and the CEO, my fiance and I were treated very poorly and disrespectfully. The manager I spoke with, Melissa, was patronizing and disrespectful. I asked to speak to someone above her that may be able to answer our questions and was given the CEO's email address. After waiting for a response to my email for 2 weeks, I decided to call her. She was perfectly aware of the issue and had deliberately not responded to my email. The CEO actually talked over me, raised her voice, and was extremely rude and unprofessional when I asked her to explain the fees. Ultimately, she was so belligerent we could not even have a conversation. I told her we would be filing a complaint with the BBB and she stated "I don't care." before hanging up the phone. We have looked into several other venue options in the area and have not seen any agreements with this much red tape, nor have we had any experience with this much absurdity. We absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND this place. If this is the type of leadership GSAK is providing, it seriously makes me question the future our our poor little Girl Scouts in Alaska. We have filed a complaint with the BBB.
