Foss Swim School is a year-round swim-lesson franchise with 11 Minnesota locations; its Woodbury school offers group and private swimming lessons for infants through older children, plus condensed 2-week and 4-week summer swim 'camps' that repackage the same lesson curriculum. Great and well run facility! Lots of personal touches to go above and beyond. One of my kids came into their first really nervous and I wasn’t sure she would follow through on starting. The front desk employee was so warm and reassuring as she gave us a tour and interacted with my kids. Our lessons have been great!

We started our second semester of swimming today and I was so highly impressed with the staff. There were many kids with big emotions and a lot of nerves and the way that all the staff members were so delicate and patient while making kids feel safe and comfortable could have brought me to tears. This is an amazing place with such an amazing staff!

We enrolled both our girls in Foss and have had a great experience! Our youngest is in the baby backfloat 1 with Erika and the sessions are fun, engaging, and encourage water comfortability without any pressure. It's a great experience not just for the kids but Erika also helps parents feel comfortable getting the little in water. We have enrolled for the next session! Our oldest had a hard time during her first session and she is pretty strong willed so the manager came over and offered to have one of the Floater helpers assist and provide 1:1 support. Just having that additional help available and them being so patient and willing to work with her was amazing.

My 3 year old son had his private swim lesson on Friday. I was watching him “try floating, he’s old enough to know this stuff by now” his instructor said. The manager came by and had a talk with the instructor, because of obvious issues. Glad the managers recognize. I have been taking all of my kids (6 girls and 5 boys) to Goldfish, then someone referred us to here. Not worth your time or money…..also not enough bathrooms for everyone.

We go to Foss in Woodbury and absolutely love it! The coaches are fantastic, the schedule is flexible, the facilities are clean and well-stocked, and the atmosphere is always welcoming. The classes are very structured with guided learning—kids are assessed before moving to the next level, which makes the progress clear and effective. The coaches and staff are not only fun but also highly professional. Most of the coaches my daughter has had are seasoned swimmers with 6–10 years of competitive swimming experience. They really understand technique and teach kids nuances that you just can’t get anywhere else—it’s amazing and so worth it. We also appreciate the family swim time, which allows us to come together and practice the skills outside of class, especially since we don’t have our own pool. The coaches that we have met during family time have been soooo knowledgeable and supportive and fun. Overall, it’s a 100% recommendation from us, and we’ll definitely continue bringing our daughter here.
