⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a great experience at YWCA. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help. The gym is clean, well-maintained, and has a great variety of equipment for all fitness levels. I always felt comfortable and motivated during my workouts. I highly recommend YWCA to anyone looking for a supportive and positive place to stay active and healthy.

All group classes were cancelled for a week due to temperature issues in the building. I had checked the website for possible schedule changes before making the trip there. I got there & found out all the classes were cancelled. That information should have appeared across the schedule online not on a banner the staff had to search for to show us. Facility & classes are good but communication needs improvement.

I am a member here because it's the closest indoor pool to my home. It's nice they have a wide range of lap swim hours. Because of this I continue to come back. That said, it's disappointing how frequently things such as the hot tub and leisure pool (where the kids swim) seem to break and need long periods before they're fixed again. Also, I don't have concrete examples but the front desk staff don't exude kindness. Whenever I mention or even ask something about the facility, they react in a way that makes it seem like I'm inconvenienceing them and their day.

Just had an interesting run in with the CEO at this location. I attend the child care area. There is designated parking for the childcare parent pick up/drop off right in front of the building. For the handicap cap parking spots, it is set up for parents to park there during 7am-9:30am and 4pm-6pm, very convenient and considerate for parents. This morning as I parked in this handicap spot as I regularly do around 9:15am to take my baby into the daycare area, I was greeted by an employee of the YWCA. She informed me that I couldn’t park there. I made her aware that I could, she continued to stand there and insist I could not. I initially thought to ignore her, but I wanted to respect my elders, but as she continued to stand there insisting, I continued to remove by baby out of my car leading to me ignoring her already in a rush and only having 20 minutes to get out of parking there before being charged. She finally went into the building, I dropped my baby off inside and went to the front desk to make a complaint. I was informed that the individual who I had the verbal disagreement with is actually the CEO of the YWCA. This actually makes it worse and quite embarrassing that she isn’t aware of the policy. Just as I was considering to potentially apply for employment here, this incident was necessary because I would highly dislike working under someone as such that’s not familiar with policy yet harassing people.

Quite rude. If your white male and don't fit in there anti-racism profiled in you might experience racism or sexism yourself by being dismissive and clearly short and I'd even go as far to say rude. Definitely not a welcoming feeling and I'm curious to see what management has to say because tonight's experience wasn't the first and I usually don't let things of this nature bother me. When you come in and they look you up and down and we're completely friendly and congenial with the previous customer and then they instantly go monotone. I gave her my ID and my YWCA card and I said I'm from another location the lady said i need the app despite never having to ask for an app before this lady demanded it and I had a doctor's note and I said my leg is hurt I have to walk all the way out to my vehicle it's very cold and it's at the edge of the parking lot because it's a large truck she just shook her head and said sorry yes it's the rules. I said can we call the other branch and verify my membership there. Nope. Okay I walked all the way out with a hurt leg that's why I was there and I drove 20 minutes in traffic to come to this Branch to sit in the sauna for 10 minutes and they were closing in 30 I get back in I download the app I have only used it once at the other branch they don't require it and three tries at my password and it locked me out for 30 minutes. . now burn 10 minutes dealing with her and downloading the app and signing in only to be met with that trekking back out across the huge parking lot . When the app lock me out for 30 minutes I showed her and asked what was her solution to the problem? She said well can you call the branch and verify?. Um ..YES of course I can please thank you. She said well wait you're going in the sauna? Well you know we close at 7. Now i only have under 15 minutes. Yes that's why I was wanting to have this process be quicker I was stuck in traffic and I drove a good ways to come here the doctor said the sauna I would be good for my leg condition. Realizing I would now not have time now to shower I just was defeated. I said okay yeah you're right I don't have enough time. And i left. She had no problem with me leaving. And of course they charge for PARKING and I have to pay extra fee from coming from a different YWCA. She could have easily accommodated me like the other employees have the whole time I've been here but she chose not to. she could have had me call the first time but she chose not to. she chose to make my life more difficult purposely and that's wrong. If you're a white male and you've experienced this please email the management Emily is the head there. it should not be like that and they should not be treating people differently everyone should be treated with the same respect. Mmi asked how long she's been working here I've never seen her she said she's been there for 5 years and said she hadn't seen me there either. so maybe this is just the vibe of the place or they don't like st.paul members there. but I've been a YWCA member since I was a teenager at branches all across the country starting in Seattle I'm very against racism and I'm against people talking down to other people and I'm against people singling people out to make their lives more difficult and having no problem with it she could have been much more accommodating. Hopefully the management will speak to the counter people about interactions make sure that they're treating everyone equally with kindness.
