Great gym for the neighborhood. Outdoor swim pool great for lap swimming, but check out the aquatic class schedules. Gym equipment has good utilization rate and I can always find equipment available.

El Camino YMCA is a nice place to exercise, with a good number of stationary bikes, treadmills, and ellipticals. I look forward to trying out some of the classes. There is also a nice quiet room for stretching opposite the locker rooms. Sometimes a youthful weight trainer might get a little "testosterony" and bang the weights, but I think the staff has this under control. Happy Health to All!

As a member of the gym, I’ve had a very positive experience overall. Most of the staff and instructors are excellent, professional, supportive, and engaging. I especially enjoy the new BollyX class offered on Thursday evenings; the instructor is outstanding and among the best I’ve encountered. Parking can be a bit challenging at times. However, I understand that this is a shared space and improvements may be limited. Overall, I would still highly recommend this gym.

Attended a Boot Camp class on 3/10 at the YMCA with instructor Jennifer B and I personally felt being verbally abused and attacked by Jennifer B. I came during my lunch break, arrived on time, and followed the workout instructions. For personal medical reasons and preference, I used dumbbells and bodyweight exercises instead of the jump rope/medicine ball/barbell options. Despite participating fully, the instructor repeatedly called me out in front of the class (at least three times) for not using the equipment she preferred. The comments and tone felt degrading and unnecessary. I decided not to tolerate this extremely unacceptable behavior and left 15 mins early before class ended. No one should be publicly shamed for making reasonable exercise modifications. A fitness class should be an encouraging and respectful environment for everyone. Because of this experience, I will not attend her class again. I hope the YMCA reminds instructors that members may need to modify exercises and should be treated with respect.

Instructors are skilled and encouraging, able to integrate all levels. Front desk staff are welcoming and helpful. Tech support has great follow through and will make sure problems are solved. Director Alice Rorbach. Is outstanding. She is accessible, caring, responsive, and knowledgeable.
