Drove an hour from home with my friend so our kids could do the underwater easter egg hunt. Never heard of the concept and thought it was be super fun. Pool area was nice, even said we’d get memberships for the kids to swim. Our kids who are 4 and 5 years old, were swimming in the big pool towards the deeper end when the women who works there, I assume, and was taking photos with a camera started to scream at our kids. We’re were right beside her watching our kids swim as they were racing to other end. At the top of her lungs told them both they can’t be at this end of the pool with life vests and to swim back or they’d be kicked out! Mind you the two life guards at the pool never said a word. No signs stating they can’t swim in the deep end. She did make sure to give us a smile after she realized both their moms were staring right at her. If my kids breaking rules, by all means correct them, but do not scream at anyones child. We told our kids to swim back to the end and they did without any words and then wanted to go home. Way to traumatize a child. Will not be going back.

We went for the Easter Egg Hunt and after I planed on purchasing a membership for myself and three boys, BUT though the pool area is nice an employee there was unbelievably, obnoxiously, RUDE! To our children. We won’t be returning if that’s how they treat kids. There is no signs that stated the kids with life jackets could not be in the deep part of the pool, the life guard didn’t approach us and let us know. A woman who was taking photos SCREAMED at our children saying “Get over on the other side of the pool NOW!!! Or you can get out!” Ages 5 & 4… ARE YOU KIDDING ME? She could have asked politely. “Hey boys, little kids aren’t allowed over here please go back to the other side” you know? If you don’t like your job, leave! There was plenty of kids running, jumping where they’re not supposed to be getting reprimanded politely with patience. Our kids had not been spoken to once until they went into the big pool. I don’t mind someone speaking up to my kid if they’re doing something wrong but the disrespect to kids is CRAZY! My friend convinced me not to approach because there’s no point if I don’t plan to go back, but maybe if I’m you don’t have patience you shouldn’t be working with kids.

My family and I have been coming to the Edgar May Rec Center for over 10 years, and we absolutely love it. It has everything you need—great equipment, all the essentials for a solid workout, and most importantly, an incredible staff that makes you feel right at home. There’s a real hometown feel here, which is hard to find in a gym. Whether you’re lifting, doing cardio, or just staying active with the family, this place has it all. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a welcoming and well-equipped fitness center.

Swim Lessons with Rick-AWESOME. I learned to swim as a kid and I'm an avid SCUBA diver; I thought I knew HOW to SWIM. I wanted to swim for exercise but was exhausted after 100M. Come to find out-I wasn't swimming efficiently. 5 lessons with Rick and up to 900M+. Their Aquatic Staff-instructors, life guards-are wonderful. Aqua Aerobics and Poolates are a blast. Highly recommend Edgar May's pool and upstairs workout room.
