My son started camp in 2021 at age eleven, the 2 week session. In 2022, 3 weeks. In 2023, 6 weeks. When I pick him up, he is fit, relaxed, and more personable than he'd been when I dropped him off. The camp teaches a love of nature and a respect for others. Bruce set up the camp almost 25 years ago, off-the-grid, with a small solar array to power the kitchen's fridge and nurse Trudy's office. Campers live with well-selected counselors in sturdy teepees. Because the early camp was set up with a partnership with members of the Lakota Sioux (Dakota) tribe, Bruce incorporates some of their culture and teachings respectfully and without condescension. (Think how you might, for example, learn Reiki or another culture's way of doing something and incorporate it successfully into your life, while not upsetting your other beliefs.) This helps the boys understand a different way of life and learn how to play games and learn skills (like fire building and how to use a knife safely to work wood). Without the distractions of cellphones and computers, the boys are able to have deeper conversations. This allows them enjoy themselves more fully, and make lasting friendships, and to appreciate nature, and take in the brightest stars above the Green Mountains. My son was given a leadership role last session, and that helped his confidence and his maturity. There I was--a few years ago--surfing the internet for summer camp, and I found a diamond in the rough. Every letter my son sends home (we had to press him!) tells about how awesome camp is. They have fun, no matter what the weather. Thank you Bruce, Trudy, and the whole Night Eagle Wilderness Adventures community for an unparalleled opportunity!

My son is returning to the camp tomorrow. He went last year and didn't want to go back home. He was looking forward to returning this year. There is nothing like Night Eagle to plug off and change the pace of the modern high-pressure life on a boy. Definitely recommend!

My son has been going to this wilderness camp for 4 years. It is an exceptional experience. If you think camp is about fine dining and 4 star hotel accommodations this is not the place. If you want a camp experience for your kid that really enriches their experience of nature and deep connections with peers, an experience that will be radically different from your normal everyday life, an experience that will give your son pride and self confidence and a sense of accomplishment, then-- this is the place.

I've gone to this camp for 3 years now and each year I've made dozens of friends and gained great knowledge from unforgettable experiences.
