Windsor Mountain Summer Camp

I've never done anything like this before, so to experience it while at my niece's wedding this weekend with family and their extended family was great! The venue is geared more for big kids than adults, but it works either way (brings out the kid in you). My wife and I slept in the cabin that seemed geared for lots of kids (12 twin beds, might have been narrower), and some of the windows were only screens. We were just there at the end of August and it was about 40°F in the morning (I didn't mind, wife did). Keep this in mind in case you need to prepare. We've only camped once before and it was really close to home, so it doesn't count. This felt like glamping, because it was so nice and everything is well made with plenty of showers and restrooms. Everything is well maintained and cleaned. A big plus is that I was able to catch this picture on our last night there, luckily light pollution is very minimal. My friend told me that NH was one of the lucky states able to see the northern lights, but unfortunately we couldn't see them because of the tall trees blocking the northern sky.

Wedding Review - I HIGHLY recommend Windsor Mountain Summer Camp, truly more than I can put words to. Gabby was incredible for assisting with planning the wedding, coordinating two tours of the venue, food tasting (food was absolutely incredible and staff nutritionalist made dietary restrictions easy), asking the right questions and running with our instructions. The staff was absolutely INCREDIBLE. We could not have done it or been able to relax and enjoy our weekend without their enthusiastic and enjoyable assistance. The entire weekend was the best of our life and more than we could have ever asked for. We had lots of loved ones come spend the weekend in cabins with us, enjoying camp and celebrating our wedding. We stayed in the beautiful new treehouse. We ziplined Friday night. Had the bell run for each meal. Waterfront was a big hit, groom caught fish the morning of wedding, bride sauna'd, paddleboarded and floated around the morning after. We had a family member host morning yoga in the pavilion. We had a different building for each event. The decks were perfect for a pizza welcome party and cocktail hour. Incredibly beautiful ceremony space. We were able to bring our own golf cart to help the less mobile guests get around, and the staff put extra chairs out so they wouldn't need to sit on logs. Truly - you ask the staff to jump and they say "how high?" Our guests couldn't stop talking about how nice and helpful they were, and even befriended many of them. I mean truly, above and beyond. For the wedding day, they delivered breakfast and lunch to the bridal party. Everything we needed, they were there for. They anticipated and improvised with anything needed, better than we could have. A year later, and I still have friends come up to me and say they think about our wedding all the time and how much fun it was. I'm constantly telling people about it and wish everyone would get married here (and invite me!). I cannot recommend Windsor Mountain Summer Camp enough for any of your needs - it would make the perfect spot for a family reunion, wedding - or we're already planning to come back for our 10 year anniversary!

I can't say enough good things about Windsor Mountain International Camp and its owners, Jake and Kerry. Our 11-year-old son just completed his third summer there and always returns from camp sweeter, kinder and brimming with stories. He loves the "free-choice" aspect of camp--kids choose their own activities (on a 3-day rotation) with the exception of instructional swim, which is required. The activities are incredibly creative due to the creativity of the "Department Heads," and all traditional activities are available as well: tennis, pickleball, archery, art, drama, etc. There's also plenty of downtime to explore the grounds, safely and well-supervised, but with a free-range feeling for the kids. The lake is beautiful and there are tons of activities on the waterfront (and many lifeguards). The counselors all have at least one year of college under their belts, which makes a HUGE difference in terms of their maturity and common sense. Many are former campers, and others hail from various countries around the world. We love how our son has learned about the people, customs and foods of different cultures. The community is diverse, kind and inclusive. I can't rave enough about the staff and how much our son loves them. He's also made some lifelong friends with fellow campers. I wish it was a full-summer camp rather than a session camp (that's the only thing that makes it a little tough for us since we live in LA and our son goes for multiple sessions..we have to navigate a 4-day break in between Session 1 and Session 2.) But the camp does provide an optional intercession trip, which we've heard is fun for the kids who stay. Other than that... No notes.

This is a one of a kind, beautiful camp -- I am so grateful to have found it! My eleven year old son has attended for two summers. He cannot wait to return next summer. From the moment he arrived as a new camper (mid-session no less), he felt completely welcomed and integrated. This is a camp that makes everyone feel special and valued. There is a pervasive feeling of just being part of the camp family. And they have so much fun!! The waterfront is a true play-land with sail boats, trampolines, rope swings, high dives, and even a blob -- my son's favorite. They have an incredible ropes course, a beautiful garden, farm animals, archery, soccer, guitar, drumming, capture the flag, tennis, art, movement, and every other camp activity you can think of. They strike a perfect balance between fostering meaningful relationships, engaging in skill-building activities, and just being silly and having fun. Super Happy Fun Day was my son's personal favorite theme day. Windsor Mountain has made him a happier, more engaged, more confident person. I couldn't recommend it more highly.

Windsor Mountain is the type of place I dreamed of going as a kid. When I have dropped off my boys there for the past 7 years, I wanted to stay myself. My kids have gone every year for seven years now and they absolutely love the place. It has given them a great opportunity to meet others from a diverse background, they have many international friends now. Jake and the whole staff are awesome! I can't believe how good they are with these kids. Windsor Mountain is an experience that will benefit your kids for the rest of their life.
