The Denver Center for the Performing Arts runs child and teen acting camps and classes for ages 3 to 18 at its Robert & Judi Newman Center for Theatre Education at 1101 13th Street, in both half-day and full-day formats. Offerings include drama and visual art, musical theatre and drama classes, three-week drama or musical camps for ages 6 to 13, and a two-week conservatory-style intensive for high school sophomores through seniors that covers acting technique, character development, voice and movement and text analysis with professional DCPA artists.

Whether you’re seeing an opera at the Ellie Caulkins or a big Broadway tour at the Buell, the experience is always great. It’s a fun, lively part of downtown Denver that everyone should check out. Even found a really fun art installation during a recent visit!
★E F*EDIT* Again they responded below and were of no help. 😂 Had a weird experience with asking for help through email and by calling the box office. They were not able to give me a concrete answer as to when/if rush tickets are available or if I qualify as a first responder to even be able to get the tickets. They said it was up to whoever was working on the box office. Such a shame that my job where I provide safety and medical assistance 30,000 feet in the air is not recognized as a first responder at this organization. Even though many other organizations value our contribution to keeping people safe. Flight attendants are first responders too.

It doesn’t matter how good the performance is - at the end of the night you’ll feel frustrated, sore, and financially exploited - so really, what’s the point?

Decent places nearby for a drink or bite and several of the venues host private functions as well. Always a stimulating artistic adventure!
