Reel Kids runs week-long filmmaking camps in Boulder where campers collaborate to write, direct, act in and edit their own short films while learning camera technique. Sessions run a week at a time in summer and are open to ages 8 and up at all levels of experience, including campers who have never held a camera. The program operates alongside affiliated Boulder Music and Organic Theater youth programming.

Our whole family loves Reel Kids. Not only is the entire staff great, but it is also such a good experience for our kids. They gain confidence in being in front of others and the whole process of preparing/etc gives our kids agency.
My three daughters have absolutely thrived at Reel Kids in Boulder! Through the engaging acting, theater, and voice lessons, they’ve gained incredible confidence in their public speaking skills and developed a deeper sense of empathy by stepping into different characters and collaborating with others. It’s been transformative—highly recommend! ★★★★★
Have a teen who has found his 2nd home in Reel Kids. It's an incredibly supportive and welcoming community. Three years in and it gets better and better. From camps to musicals to film troupe, I'd recommend them all!
My oldest has been a part of the Reel Kids family for over a year now, and has had the most wonderful experience. The staff and students are so welcoming, and the opportunities for growth and learning are endless, spanning far beyond the stage into the indispensable life skills. I'm excited to have all my kids enrolled this year! I can't recommend Reel Kids any more highly whether your child is brand new to theater/performing or already a budding star.
