Deer Creek Racquet Club is the Park District of Highland Park's six-court indoor tennis facility, and it runs junior summer tennis camps alongside its lesson ladder. Camp classes are held indoors at the club and are grouped by level into 8 & Under, 10 & Under and 14 & Under bands, following the same published youth levels chart as the club's year-round Red Ball, Orange Ball, Green Dot and Junior Development programs. The summer season runs June 15-August 2 with no classes July 3-4, and new juniors above the entry levels are evaluated before placement. The club was named USTA Facility of the Year in 2015, and the park district offers scholarships.

★Iman SVery disappointing first time experience at this club. Absolute failure at communication. Apparently, filming a tennis lesson for a professional certification is not allowed - EVEN when I called ahead to confirm filming was okay, but that "yes" turned into a "no" the moment we arrived. They were quick to keep my non-refundable payment, though! If you enjoy being overcharged and misled, this is the club for you. Gotta love the giant construction ads!
★★Mark SThe facility itself is nice but the prices to use the facility are astonishing. Twenty six dollars for one hour on a racquetball court is just too much. Everytime I take a youngster for tennis lessons the racquetball courts are unused. In the dead of winter that should not be the case.

I’ve experienced indoor and outdoor, most of the instructors, and the cardio tennis weekday classes. One time the kid class had too many students—it was quickly remedied by bringing in another instructor. They do a great job managing demands of the north shore clients. It’s not perfect, but it’s a city facility and they all work their butts off to keep everyone happy and learning. It’s competitive but having fun is also important. Dawn (at the front desk) is incredible and is always available to answer questions. She’s a life savor! Richard is my personal favorite for teaching, but I’ve been very happy with everyone I’ve met :) So happy to be part of the deer creek community!
★★Jeffrey SchrimmerNice facility but I would avoid going here for instruction. Don’t get me wrong there’s a few great teachers but the organization is terrible. Classes change times without notice. Instructors are often burdened with too many kids (9/1 at the class I’m writing this at), and kids are doing cartwheels on the courts. Front desk staff is poorly equipped to give you any information or reassurances. It’s sad. There’s people here who want it to be a good tennis club but it falls short in so many areas.
