XS Tennis and Education Foundation is a Chicago 501(c)3 nonprofit whose mission is to give under-served youth a safe haven and an athletic and academic pathway to college; it brings tennis into ten CPS elementary schools and continues that pathway through after-school and summer camp programs. Summer camp runs Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm, at XS Tennis Village on South State Street, across indoor and outdoor courts, and can be booked for the full eight-week session or week by week. The Tennis & Enrichment track suits players new to tennis through yellow ball and adds academic enrichment, basketball and a maker space for non-year-round players; the High Performance track gives competitive juniors 20 hours a week of on-court training plus 10 hours of strength and agility and classroom strategy sessions. Campers bring their own lunch, and a junior membership is required before registering.
