Dance Expressions at 9151 N. Dixie Drive in Dayton teaches jazz, lyrical, ballet, hip hop, tap and contemporary and is directed by Lori Downey, with Tiny, Mini, Junior and Senior competition teams. The studio runs themed summer camps; past themes have included glow-in-the-dark and hip hop camps, superhero and acro tumbling camps, mermaid art, Fancy Nancy, American Ninja Warrior and a musical theater camp. Dance Expressions has done an amazing job teaching our daughter and encouraging her to try new things, even when it’s hard. They are patient, kind and instill a love for dance and a strong work ethic while making it fun at a young age. My daughter is so happy here, and so are we. We have another studio in town but travel here because we believe it is truly the BEST!

She just earned a position on the University of Cincinnati Dance Team! They are a national and world winning team and currently rated 2nd in the nation! I give full credit to Miss Lori Downey and her incredible staff for making my daughter's dream come true! She was FULLY prepared for this intense audition in both dance skills and stress management! ★★★★★Tracey CrewsWhat a great year at Dance Expressions for my daughter! We moved 4 children from out of state which is never easy, especially when they are in high school. In looking for a dance studio, we were referred to Dance Expressions. Lori was wonderful, accommodating a visit before we even moved. My daughter was set up with a dancer from the studio to visit the high school as well. The dancers were so welcoming, exchanging social media info with my daughter before she left to keep in touch before the move. My daughter wasn't available for competition tryouts, however Lori, the other teachers and dancers welcomed her into rec classes. My daughter made great friends with these girls which helped starting high school in a new state so much easier. My daughter was pushed further by this dance studio then she was ever pushed in the past. She loved the high expectation and knowing that the teachers were there to support her as she grew. The dance moms were all there to help me navigate my dance mom duties! Lori was so helpful as a parent in the community, helping me find other activities for my children that do not dance. She told me where to shop, get my hair done and always asked how all my kids were doing with our transition. I can't thank this studio enough for welcoming our family into this community! And...what a great show!!!!!!! So much fun to be a part of!

Everyone is helpful and willing to answer any questions you may have. My youngest is not the most outgoing when she started but has really grown because of being in dance classes here and being around all the girls. "It is just a fun place to be" a quote from one of my daughters! Every year they ask when its time to dance again. The recital is top notch and always has beautiful costumes and truly feels like a production, even my parents and family love to come and watch other dances that my kids are not in. I cannot say enough about Miss Lori and her staff and the studio! Every year I recommend new friends to try it out and they always say it was a great new activity for their kids.
