I love my Gym I have visited a couple surrounding YMCA’s lately and realized how spoiled I am here 😊 the staff is great and my whole family likes it here too.
One Star - Disrespectful Staff, Predatory Pricing, and Zero Accountability This YMCA is an absolute joke, and tonight’s experience (Friday, January 16th) proved it beyond any doubt. I will be canceling my membership! I arrived around 7:30 PM with my mother for a simple walk on the upper track. I have an ACTIVE membership and have NEVER used my guest pass benefit - not once. My mother’s membership had only just lapsed at the beginning of the month due to insurance issues. But did the staff care? Absolutely not. The first rude employee refused to honor my guest pass for no legitimate reason and forced my mother to pay $5 out of pocket. Here’s where it gets truly outrageous: the staff KNEW we were being charged $5 for what would amount to maybe 30 minutes of use before closing. We believed the closing time was 9pm, which is our mistake but They knew exactly what they were doing - squeezing money out of people who were about to be kicked out anyway. That’s not customer service, that’s robbery with a smile. After all , why wouldn’t they simply have said “you know we are closing in 30 minutes?” instead of charging us the $5? They absolutely knew what they were doing and I firmly believe it’s because I’ve complained in the past about lack of enforcement on other “policies “ they allegedly have but never enforce. After walking for BARELY 30 MINUTES, another disrespectful female staff member approached us and kicked us out, talking down to us like we were disobedient children instead of paying customers. Zero professionalism. Zero respect. Zero regard for the fact that they just charged us for time we couldn’t even use. This place is a complete embarrassment to the YMCA name. The staff is rude, the policies are applied arbitrarily, and they’ll happily take your money knowing full well you won’t get your money’s worth. We came to exercise and have a private conversation about family matters, and instead we were extorted and humiliated. Do NOT waste your time or money here. This facility has forgotten what customer service means and apparently trains its staff to treat members like garbage.
I paid my bill that was owed and she didn’t tell me I had to RE APPLY so the next day I took my boys there to swim and all of a sudden I don’t have a membership. PISSED is an under statement. Definitely don’t recommend.
We are here for a swim meet. The facility is nice and clean. The pool area is nice.
