Powered by GoogleTop notch YMCA!! Great programs, staff, and facilities! I’ve been involved at several Ys in the Cincy area, and I much prefer this one. They offer a great summer camp and so many activities.
Very disappointed with the YMCA Coffman in Springboro. The pool situation is a complete mess. The therapy/warm pool is closed constantly — not occasionally, but regularly. Almost every week there’s another closure due to “lifeguard illness” or lack of staff. It honestly feels like they rely almost entirely on teenage lifeguards with no backup plan. If one person calls off, the whole pool shuts down. That’s not a one-time issue — it’s clearly an ongoing problem that management hasn’t fixed. Paying around $81/month for a facility where one of the main amenities is unavailable most of the time is frustrating and not worth it. Many of us joined specifically for the pool, and it’s simply unreliable. To be fair, the gym itself is clean and well-maintained. But at this price point, if you’re just looking for a gym, you’re honestly better off going to Anytime Fitness and saving money without dealing with constant closures. Overall, poor staffing, poor planning, and very inconsistent service. Management seriously needs to step up.
Excellent facility. Awesome gym. Great indoor pools, including therapy pool with chair lift to help disabled in and out of water. They team up preimer health and offer great aquatic therapy. Friendly staff. Nice changing room and family changing room they even have soccer field. Only thing I can think of to improve it would be if they had an outdoor pool also.
Front desk staff is not very friendly. I’ve only been a member a week and three times I’ve asked where a class is or what part of the building or if there’s a class going on and every time they tell me “ I don’t know. Do you have the app?” Not everyone is app savvy. When I got my welcome packet, there was a weekly list of classes. Why give me a paper class list if it’s not up-to-date?When I ask about a class on that paper, nobody knows what I’m talking about and they have to either look it up on the app or pull it up on the desk monitor. Jury is still out for me on staying with the Y.
I had a frustrating experience at the Springboro YMCA this past Sunday. I brought a colleague with me who intended to purchase a guest pass so we could work out together. We were told by a staff member named Janet that guest passes are not sold on Sundays and that my colleague would not be allowed to enter. Because this didn’t sound right, we contacted another local YMCA branch while still there and were informed that guest passes can, in fact, be sold on Sundays. The conflicting information was confusing, and unfortunately the interaction itself felt dismissive rather than helpful. There was no attempt to clarify the policy, check with management, or offer an alternative solution. I value the YMCA’s mission and have had positive experiences before, but this situation felt unwelcoming and inconsistent. I hope the branch can provide clearer communication and more member-friendly service moving forward.
