Columbia Yacht Club is a private members' club on Lake Michigan at 111 N. Lake Shore Drive in downtown Chicago, housed in a converted ship, and it is home to Columbia Sailing School. The sailing school, a separate 501(c)(3), runs the youth day camp: Monday through Friday 9:00am-3:30pm for ten weeks from mid-June to mid-August, with classes built for specific age levels from beginners at age 7 up through Optimist and C420 race teams. Families sign up for anywhere from one to ten weeks and aftercare runs 4:00-6:00pm. Scholarships are funded for Chicago-area children, including Chicago Public School students through the club's Chester Kuttner Foundation.

Powered by GoogleI’ve never been here but I took this sweet photo while running one morning. Thought I’d share.
Going onboard the MV Abegweit has to be one of the most interesting things you can do in Chicago. Something about walking on the decks and peering out on the lake through a pothole window fulfilled my childhood dreams of being on an ocean liner. 🧊⛴
A place where you can stroll around and even find designated fishing areas, with fishing permitted inside the pier during certain months. It’s also an ideal spot for a refreshing fitness run or simply to sit back and enjoy the stunning clear blue waters of the lake with family and kids.
Membership is open to sailors, boaters, or anyone interested in the social aspect of on the water life. Members will take you sailing or choose from a variety of learning opportunities. Great food and drink, friendly, welcoming environment.
Amazing food, drinks, service, atmosphere, and views. They are also making an effort to continuously improve which does not go unnoticed by the members and those who visit. Can't say enough good things about this club. High praise to the staff for making this such an enjoyable part of Chicago.
