Colorado AMP - the Colorado After-school Music Program - is an Arvada nonprofit that teaches preteens and teens the skills of a working musician: instruments, music theory, ear training, individual and group performance, recording and production, and music history. Its summer music camps run two weeks, with kids rehearsing in small groups on guitar, bass, drums, keyboards or vocals and finishing with a live performance; camps draw the organization's highest turnout. Launched in 2021, it teaches from a professional-grade space in Arvada and in schools across the metro area, and offers affordable or free instruction so cost is not a barrier.
