I picked up my daughter Kyleigh today from camo waukeela and it was the best sight . she was bouncing with her two new friends beaming so happily . My daughter has never been to sleep away camp before so i was a hit of a worry wart wondering how she is doing. I am so happy we found Waukeela. Gram, Gill , Ellie and Kyleigh's councilors made this the best week ever . compassionate ,warm , loving, understanding , funny and organized are a few words that come to mind . Thank you all for the best experience ever . What a magical place for girls to enjoy summer the right way !! Lots of hugs , Liza and Kyleigh

I went to Waukeela for 5 summers in the 80’s and loved every second of it and couldn’t wait until I was able to send my daughter. She has now gone for 3 years and loves it every bit as much as I did. Tech-free 3.5 weeks of new friends, new skills, sports, book reading, campfires and freedom. Waukeela is one of the few US camps that has an international feel - their counsellors hail from Australia and the UK, so if your daughter is a bit of a global kid like mine is, she’ll easily fit right in. As an experience for kids, Waukeela is beyond top notch. Safe, compassionate, fun and just plain wonderful.

Almost impossible to get in touch with staff who then weren’t honest with us about the experience our kids had had. If you’re coparenting with an ex spouse this place is the worst; they didn’t share all the information with both parties including some pretty pivotal information about the kids safety. We weren’t included on phone calls or emails despite many attempts and requests to be involved which was their legal obligation. Don’t send your kids here. Deeply unprofessional staff. Responding to their response; I’m a step parent, you wouldn’t have me on file. My step children attended last summer, I was at pick up. We spent months trying to reach you, you communicated exclusively with the children’s father including after camp. If you’d like to arrange a call with me I’d be happy to discuss it at greater length, but communication was atrocious and you left us in the dark despite multiple requests for communication. Feel free to share an email address that someone actually monitors and I’ll happily be in touch.

Second year we have sent my Daughter here for summer camp. This camp is unbelievable- the Directors Gill and Graham truly care about each girl and it shows when we pick her up. Beaming with love and full of life. It's hard to put into words how magical this place really is. My Daughter has made lifelong friends while exploring nature in the beautiful White Mountains!

We photographed a wedding here in the fall, and it quickly became one of our favorite venues ever. The guests had an absolute BLAST staying in cabins and celebrating in the relaxed atmosphere with beautiful natural surroundings. We loved everything about this place!
