Camp Wachusett is a traditional overnight camp for boys ages 8-15 on Lake Hortonia near Brandon and Sudbury, Vermont, running since 1903. About 75 campers enjoy a lakefront program of sailing, waterskiing, swimming, canoeing, and kayaking, plus tennis, basketball, horseback riding, archery, riflery, wood shop, and campcraft. Overnight hiking and canoeing trips are open to all campers, in sessions of two to six weeks.

★★★★★Barb MorseMy son spent his summers from age 9 to 15 at Camp Wachusett. He loved every minute of it. Many of the directors and counselors are former campers which adds a unique perspective. My son loved the friendships he made but in addition to that, I think the best things he got from the camp was the life skills he uses almost everyday. Yes, while it was a wonderful place to play sports and swim in a beautiful Vermont setting, it was a place to learn about making things in wood shop or taking overnight camping trips and learning how to build a fire and forge for food as well as just how to be a leader by watching the counselor and directors lead and interact with the campers each day. It was also such a great opportunity for him to try new things like drama, riflery, and archery. I am certain the skills he learned at Camp Wachusett will benefit him throughout his life. We are blessed and lucky he has these experiences. It was an amazing way to spend a few weeks of the summer in the outdoors (away from technology - thank goodness) and I thank Phil and team for providing him the opportunities. I highly recommend Camp Wachusett!

I was a little worried about the small group size, wondering if there would be enough boys his age. In fact, the small number of campers made it easy to make friends across all age groups, and learn that he was very good with the youngest campers while enjoying the company of the counselors. This year there was no choice to make since he made up his mind long before last summer's camp ended.
