Camp tekakwitha is a return 100%. All the counselors are very nice and try to make your stay the best possible. There are many activities of your choice and what you like. The food is amazing and they even have options for vegans and sans gluten. There are times for resting and some times for having fun. Back to the counselors they encourage you to speak french, stay in a good mood, and have fun. They are always willing to be social with new campers. They have been around since 1938 and it is still standing astoundingly well. The chef de groupe are amazing and nice. They get problems done fast and camile the director is always will to help. They also have huge camp activities such as olympics, and Fifa. And, every cabin does trekking (piste) with their cabin every month. This is a 100% come back. And they are especially willing to help you when you are in your first year. I highly recommend this camp.

The review by Anne Mouse is true with regards to the language wars. I encountered the same problem in the 1980’s. It seems to be a part of what the camp allows. I did try to learn more French and to speak French, but not all were receptive. I kept trying even though some individuals were discouraging towards me. At that time there were only one or two that were not proficient in French (including me). We were isolated. Back then, some counselors were not professional, and they got away with it. I am hoping that this has all changed.

Responding to Ann Nonny Mouse, I started my camp experience in 2012 at ten years old in the first boy Cabin. What happened after that was probably the best 8 months of my life. I have english as my first language but as long as you participate in fluent french everyone will embrace you. This camp has helped me make the man I am today and has been a wonderful experience for me.

Some of my best memories were made at this camp, I went here for 7 years and worked for one summer. Please don't regret a moment spent here, make the most of the activities, the friends made and even the most uncomfortable camping trips. You'll end up looking back 8 years later, and reminiscing on the best times of your life, because families like that are so rare to find and create. I'm 25 now and I still greatly miss every second I spent there. Camp Tekakwitha will always be oh so special to me.
