Baptist Womans Missionary Union

Camp Pinnacle is a girls-only Christian overnight camp in Clayton, Georgia, owned and operated by the Baptist Woman's Missionary Union of Georgia and billed as 'Georgia's Only Missions-Focused Camp for Girls'. Weeklong Monday-to-Friday sessions serve girls who have completed grades 3-6 and 7-12, with shorter two-night Mom & Me sessions for grades K5-6 and a teen edition. Days run from 7:00am wake-up to 10:00pm lights out and mix kayaking, archery, pottery, a low ropes course, pool games, dance, arts and crafts and a hike up Pinnacle Mountain with scheduled faith programming – Bible study, morning worship at the prayer garden, vespers, campfire and a candlelight service – plus a 'Culture Camp' strand about missions work overseas. The operator states it is accredited by the American Camp Association, that two college-age staffers live in each cabin of 12-13 girls, and that all staff and volunteers receive background checks and child-protection training.

Recently came back from that place several hours ago, even though I was disappointed my church group only booked it for one day, it was pretty good. I loved the food, the staff were pretty friendly and professional. Although the cabin where I was at for one night, cabin 5, could use a little cleaning up. The first thing I saw when I entered, was a crusty dead millipede like bug on the floor. But, thank god it wasn't infested at all. Though I was also disappointed realizing the pool was closed at this time. Looked nice enough to go for a swim, maybe next time if my church group decides to do this again in the summer, and hopefully stay more than a single day.

The Pinnacle Retreat Center is a very peaceful and relaxing place. They have a beautiful lake and wonderful mountain views. There are kayaks on site to enjoy the waters. The rooms are very nice and clean. The church is warm and welcoming.

What a peaceful and tranquil camp! The staff was incredible and the cabins were very up to date. It had hiking, kayaking, swimming, and more. It also had my favorite....a wrap around porch with soooo many rocking chairs. 😍
