Jaycee Camp Hope
Private
Jaycee Camp Hope is an overnight camp at the Clemson University Outdoor Lab on Lake Hartwell in Pendleton, serving individuals with an intellectual disability age 7 and older. Campers swim, canoe, fish, do archery, drama, crafts, nature activities, pontoon boat rides, and overnight campouts, staying in cabins of ten single beds grouped by age so campers are with peers. Staff provide 24-hour supervision and an on-site health center is run by full-time medical personnel. Founded in 1969 and at the Outdoor Lab since 1975, the camp is subsidized for every camper by the South Carolina Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees), and Outdoor Lab programs are ACA-accredited.
