Powered by GoogleOur 6 year old son attended session E this past year. We were a bit nervous sending him away for a week but we trusted the process and knew our son would return home a new version of himself. The camp is absolutely beautiful, the staff were beyond friendly and his cabin and counselors were a great match. Each day he hiked, made candles, learned to kayak and absolutely loved dressing up like Sonic for the tajer ball. When we picked him up he asked if he could go back for 3,000 more days. We believe in the camps core values and I can truly say they live them! Our son will be a life long camper here and I cannot wait to see him grow each summer with the curated programs.
My 10 year old absolutely loved the camp. It was his first year. Many more to come for sure.. This camp offers great activities options which kids can pick from for their daily activities. Most Counsellors are Gwynn Valley camp Alumni so they are well versed with area, structure, activities, ideology. As a parent you get to see daily pictures which gets uploaded all day. Phone, watch, tablets none are allowed.. so pretty much there is no screen time.. which is great.. kids get to experience good old outdoor and indoor activities without social media and or screen distractions. There is paid email service for campers to communicate with outer world. Campers get to experience good old letter service :) write on piece of paper/ letter and Counsellor scans it and emails it to parents / guardian etc.. accommodation: beautiful rustic cabins with 4 bunk beds and woods in back yard.. Food: my child was happy with food options. My child is not a picky eater.. Camp also offers laundry service. My son decided not to use that service though as one of friends Jersey was damaged in laundry so he brought 10 days laundry home. this is a great camp where kids learn how to take care of their belongings, their cabin/ space, take care of themselves and peers, respect , independence, learn about their responsibilities , learn to be a team player, take care of environment, make new friends, make wonderful memories and more importantly have fun doing and learning life skills.
best thing my mom ever did for me was...introducing me to camp Gwynn Valley. The best experience you can give your child! Grew up as a camper here. Builds confidence, appreciation for nature, staff from around the world. The food is amazing and grown on the farm at the camp. Horseback riding, pottery, archery, climbing, creek hiking , swimming.....and more. My kids all go here now, and my favorite place on earth! My children absolutely loved their experience at Gwynn Valley for a combined ten sessions!! I never had one complaint and only had positive things to say. The counselors were stellar and sweet, the food delicious and healthy (and much of it from the organic farm!), the activities were fun and wholesome. Both my son and my daughter came back from GV refreshed, relaxed, and happy. It truly is their "happy place".
My kids go here every summer. The place is magical.
