Deerfoot Lodge Blue Ridge

Deerfoot Lodge Blue Ridge is a Christian wilderness overnight camp for boys, run in North Carolina by Deerfoot Lodge alongside its original Adirondacks camp. Campers are grouped by age into three sections – Woodsmen (9-12) in log cabins, Pioneers (13-14) in log lean-tos and Mountaineers (15-16) in tree-houses – and the season runs as four two-week residential sessions. Older campers may apply to the Voyager program, in which 16- and 17-year-olds leave camp within a day of arrival for a week and a half of remote wilderness tripping, and 17- and 18-year-olds may apply to the Guide staff-training program, which includes 10-day trips to the Great Smoky Mountains plus lifeguard, CPR and First Aid certification. The operator states the camper fee covers 75% of operating cost, with donor-funded need-based scholarships available on request to the camp director.

Very impactful place. Faithfully adheres to its mission: “Building godly men in Christ-centered community through wilderness camping.”

Deerfoot is one of the most impactful places I’ve been apart of. There is an incredible combination of wilderness experience, intentional mentor ship, and just having lots of fun. Highly recommend Deerfoot lodge!

Camper and staff for the past 7 years, fantastic camp where I truly believe the Gospel is preached and good Christian community is formed. Would 100% send my son here if I had a son.

Deerfoot Lodge Blue Ridge is an unbelievably incredible camp! We wanted a place where our son could build confidence in his woodcraft as well as experience spiritual growth. This camp exceeded all of our expectations. Chief Nick and his staff of hand selected young men made our son’s camp experience something he’ll remember for the rest of his life. The Christ-centered sense of community among the campers and staff was just awesome. If you want an incredible experience for your son that he will remember for the rest of his life, send him here - you will never regret it.

We were last here before all the buildings had gone up 6 years ago! Amazing to see what has transpired over the years! Special memories for my husband and his family as they spent many years at the Deerfoot in New York during his childhood. Exciting to see how the Lord is working through this camp ministry!
