Camp Nyoda is a family-owned all-girls overnight camp in Oak Ridge, founded in 1917 and among the oldest girls' sleepaway camps in the country, hosting up to 100 campers aged 7-15 in bungalow groups organised by age. Days are built around two camper-choice activity blocks, 10 to 12 and 3 to 5, with rest hour and rec swim in between; activities include lake swimming, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boarding, archery, horseback riding, tennis, dance, dramatics, arts and crafts, outdoor adventures and unplugged time. The youngest bungalow of second and third graders can stay one or two weeks, while from fourth grade stays run three or six weeks through grade 10.

From home cooked meals eaten family-style, to camp outs and sleeping under stars, everything experience is filled with authentic fun! Nyoda’s mission statement is “where girls like who they are” and this is reflected in every aspect of camp. Differences are not only accepted but celebrated. There’s something for everyone here and I am just lucky enough to have so many amazing memories from my 15 summers there. Can’t wait to have a daughter to send here! ★★Lily McGuireI had a great time when I went to a one day school trip. However, the unsanitary helmets given to us on the high ropes course caused a HUGE LICE OUTBREAK in my school! The lice are spreading and almost everyone who went on the trip that I've talked to has it. This was a great experience with the exception of that, however I recommend bringing your own helmet (not sure if that's allowed though) or just skipping he ropes course all together.
