Powered by GoogleThere is just something special about Camp Merri-Mac. As a parent, there is no greater gift than seeing your daughter come home more confident, more independent, and surrounded by friendships that truly matter. Merri-Mac has given our daughter memories she will carry for the rest of her life. The counselors genuinely care about the girls, the traditions are meaningful, and the atmosphere is one of encouragement, kindness, and fun. In a world that often moves too fast, Merri-Mac gives girls the chance to be kids—unplugged, outdoors, trying new things, building confidence, and learning who they are.
2021 experience was beyond terrible. If you are not a liberal, expect bullying. When brought up to the Camp Director and his wife, they were told they were old enough to be used to that anyway. Refused to allow them to call parents. I was assured they would NOT be masking when outdoors. They lied. Additionally, they had the kids playing games running up and down the hill, while masked, and despite multiple girls passing out, they never relaxed the masking rule. They were yelled at for having their mask down while taking a bite of their ice cream. They posted a picture of a former president in one of the dorms and told the girls to salute or kiss their fingers and touch the photo. The “classes” were not taught. The older camp counselors that were supposed to be teaching just stood around and talked amongst themselves. Zero stars. Rave for Camp Olympia in Texas, though.
my favorite place in the entire world. if you want the best summer ever, go to camp merri mac.
My niece went to Merri-Mac for the first time this year. She was in lavenders blue and LOVED it. She would not stop talking about her counselors. She told endless stories of her days there, and Mish, Enley and Macy were evidently soo kind to her. She had so much fun in her activities, and she made so many friends that I hope last for many more years. I can see that her confidence is so much higher than before she went to camp, and I truly think her experience at camp is to credit! I highly recommend camp Merri Mac for anyone interested in sleep away camps!
This summer is our three daughters third year at Camp Merri-Mac. I attended a near by summer camp as a child and always thought my children would follow in my footsteps. In my research, I came across Camp Merri-Mac. We went for a family tour (it snowed while we were there!) and knew pretty quickly that this is where they needed to be. The activities are plentiful and the girls are encouraged to try new things. The counselors are knowledgeable and celebrate their achievements. The camp keeps track of their progress each summer and the girls earn pins for their growth. I don't know how they find the counselors that they hire but these young ladies are the best role models for all the campers. Truly, they have servant hearts and an absolute love for Jesus. They write each camper a long note and personal note at the end of each session. We keep every one and love re-reading them before camp every year. Beyond the activities and wonderful guidance have been the friendships they have made. The girls they met the first year have become some of their most cherished friends. They are from all over the country but keep in touch all year. Sending and receiving Christmas cards is just one example of how they all keep in contact. The excitement they all share before camp starts is so precious to witness. Camp Merri-Mac fosters these relationships and encourages making new friends as well. The owners and employees of Camp Merri-Mac put in so much work all year to make each summer the most memorable summer for each girl that attends. Their joy for the work they do and love for the Lord is proof that Camp Merri-Mac is like no other camp. We are so grateful to be a part of this family.
