My 8-year-old son just attended his very first sleepaway camp at Camp Highlander, and the experience was nothing short of amazing. As a first-time camp parent, I was naturally a little nervous, but from the very beginning, the staff made us feel so welcomed and supported. A special shoutout to Beth, who was truly outstanding! She was always responsive, kind, and willing to help with any questions or concerns I had. Her warmth and attentiveness made such a difference, and I’m so grateful for her support throughout the entire process. The counselors were phenomenal, and the variety of activities kept my son engaged, excited, and smiling every single day. He came home with so many great stories, new friendships, and a huge boost in confidence. He’s already asking to go back he would leave today if he could! I can’t thank Camp Highlander enough for creating such a positive and memorable experience for my son. We will definitely be back, and I highly recommend it to any parent looking for a caring, fun, and truly special camp for their child.

We have just completed our 3rd year of family camp and LOVED it. I know when my husband and I are old and the kids are grown, we will look back on family camp as some of the best times in our lives. We had our absolute dream wedding at Camp Highlander and it was nothing short of perfect. Melissa, camp owner/ director/ wedding planner extraordinaire/ super woman, can do anything! From the very beginning stages of planning, to perfecting the final details of the wedding weekend, she had our trust and made us feel completely at ease, allowing us to really enjoy our time with our friends and family. She also created our flower arrangements herself and they were absolutely stunning! Our guests could not stop talking about how amazing the food was. They were very accommodating to guests dietary restrictions and made sure there was something delicious for everyone. Kay is a superstar in the kitchen and she really knows what she’s doing! Also Melissa’s mom’s Louisiana étouffé recipe was out of this world. Spirits were high and everyone was filled with glee the entire weekend at our adult-summer camp wedding. Our friends haven’t stopped saying, and will undoubtedly continue to say for years to come, it was, hands down, the best wedding they’ve ever been to! Not only was Camp Highlander remarkably hospitable and friendly, but we could truly feel the love and sense of family from the entire staff here. Shout out to Mac and Spencer, y’all were magnificent. Judging by our incredible adult-camper weekend, we can only imagine how fun it must be to be an actual kid-camper here. We will definitely be sending our kids here in the future and look forward to continue to be part of the Camp Highlander fam. DREAM WEDDING VENUE! 🏔️💍 I recently attended an INCREDIBLE wedding here for my dear friends Mike & Julia. This venue is a hidden GEM in the most beautiful part of Asheville, tucked away in the mountains. IT WAS A DREAM. What truly sets this place apart is the Camp Highlander staff. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with open & loving arms by the kindest, most supportive people. You can feel the love of this community – they made everyone feel so welcome and supported my friends' vision for an epic fun weekend celebration. They also offered all the best camp activities: kayaking, canoeing, swimming, water slide, the blob, outdoor adventure course, crafting, games, staying in the cozy cabins and eating in the mess hall. The ceremony itself took place in a gorgeous field and after we danced the night away in the twinkle-lit rec center. As if that wasn't magical enough, the staff performed a choreographed dance at the end – it was unreal! Without a doubt, this is the best wedding venue ever and the best wedding I’ve ever been to.
