Camp Mondamin
Private
Traditional overnight summer camp for boys ages 6-17 in the Blue Ridge Mountains at Zirconia/Tuxedo, founded 1922 and run by the Bell family (sister camp to Camp Green Cove). The non-competitive, non-regimented program lets boys direct their own days across hiking, kayaking, canoeing, sailing, mountain biking, rock climbing and horseback riding, and is known for an extensive wilderness-trip program from intro overnights to multi-day expeditions.

Powered by GooglePhenomenal place for campers to learn independence, gain confidence, and enjoy the outdoors away from screens and tech. Our kids really enjoyed setting their own schedules, priorities, and activities. You can see the growth after weeks at camp. Great staff and tradition. Highly recommend.
Love this place! World class camp that I’d recommend to any family. Great experiences offered with even better staff
My son absolutely loves Mondamin! I love that it builds independence by allowing them to choose their own activities and adventures. It is small enough to have a small camp feel. The paddling program is amazing and now my son is very into kayaking! Also, he says the food is amazing and he came home loving salads!
Camp Mondamin is a truly stunning wedding venue, with breathtaking views of the lake and mountains. The scenery is simply breathtaking, and it provides a perfect backdrop for any wedding ceremony or reception. Whether you're dreaming of a romantic outdoor ceremony on the shores of the lake, or a lively reception in the rustic lodge, Camp Mondamin has everything you need to create a wedding day that you'll cherish forever. I had the pleasure of attending a wedding at Camp Mondamin recently, and I was absolutely blown away by the beauty of the venue. The ceremony was held on the dock overlooking the lake, and the mountains provided a stunning backdrop. The reception was held in the lodge, which was beautifully decorated and had a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff at Camp Mondamin were also incredibly helpful and accommodating. They went above and beyond to make sure that the wedding was everything the couple had dreamed of. From helping to plan the ceremony and reception, to providing food and beverage service, the staff at Camp Mondamin made the entire process stress-free and enjoyable. If you're looking for a wedding venue that is both beautiful and unique, I highly recommend Camp Mondamin. With its breathtaking scenery and attentive staff, Camp Mondamin is the perfect place to celebrate your special day.
An excellent non-competitive outdoors skills camp, Mondamin just celebrated its hundredth anniversary. My son and I went for the family/alumni camp Labor Day weekend, and as they diligently maintain things in the wonderful original condition and design, almost nothing has changed since I was there in the early 70s. It’s wonderful, almost magical.
