Camp Can Do is a free overnight camp for Pennsylvania children ages 8-17 who have been diagnosed with cancer, and for their siblings, run since 1983 by the volunteer nonprofit Camp Can Do 2014, Inc. It operates two separate week-long sessions each summer: a sibling camp in June for kids whose brother or sister has been diagnosed, and a patient camp in August. Volunteer doctors and oncology nurses are on site around the clock to administer routine chemotherapy, arrange blood counts and handle emergencies, and the camp states its site and programming are wheelchair accessible. Camp is held at Gretna Glen Camp & Retreat Center in Lebanon County, which offers high and low ropes courses, a climbing wall, a nature centre, a wheelchair-accessible tree house, archery, swimming, boating and fishing. Families pay nothing; the roughly $2,500 per-camper cost is covered by donations.
