Carlisle Family YMCA runs three ACA-accredited day camps plus a traditional resident camp at Camp Thompson, which sits in the pines of Pine Grove Furnace State Park and the Michaux State Forest between Laurel and Fuller lakes. Day camps run 9am to 4pm with free play from 7:45am to 5pm and are split by age - Youth Adventure for ages 6-8, New Frontiers for ages 9-12 on a 100-acre farm, and Camp Thompson Day Camp for ages 6-12 - with campers bussed from the Y and all field trip costs included. Resident weeks serve ages 7-14 and add archery, canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding, tubing, low and high ropes, an alpine tower and outdoor living skills. The Y publishes a wellness centre with an on-site health care provider, a counsellor-in-training track and summer camp financial assistance.
