Camp Calvary at 1111 Preakness Ave in Wayne runs an 11-week summer day camp from late June through early September for children entering nursery through 9th grade. The programme mixes arts and crafts, sports and field trips; campers from preschool through 2nd grade stay on site, while 3rd through 9th graders take both on-site and off-site trips. Families choose two, three, four or five days a week in full or extended days and can vary which days their child attends week to week.

There is a new, fun theme each week with age appropriate activities (preschool and kindergarten might have a bubble show while the older kids go on a field trip to sky zone). The camp is run by a church, so there are christian themes encouraged throughout, which my husband and I personally appreciate. That said, I wouldn't say christianity is "thrown in your face" and there are a variety of children of various backgrounds and religions that attend and are welcomed warmly by campers and staff. The camp is much cheaper than other local camps and is also very safe. My kids come back happy and tired after a fun day of play and I could not be happier! I would strongly recommend this camp without any hesitation.
