Brown Recreation Center on E. Vandalia Road runs one of nine City of Greensboro Parks & Recreation summer day camps for children ages 5-12 who have completed kindergarten. The full-day camp runs mid-June through mid-August at about $100 per week, with games, sports, wellness and environmental education, creative play, field trips, and swimming; meals are served daily and fee assistance is available.
The practical details
We list only what the camp itself publishes, and programs change — dates, prices, ages and availability can all move after we check. Confirm the details on the camp’s own website and contact Brown Recreation Center directly before you register or pay. Last checked August 2026.

Powered by GoogleThere are hours of operation posted, BUT several times that I've tried to go during those hours for open gym the doors are locked. No one answers the phone when calling to see if they are actually open to the public, 6pm-8pm.
Early voting there today was very easy and speedy. Clean well organized and friendly persons helping.
My kids went here for summer camp and now after-school. I love the staff and the help they offer with the kids learning.
Great Community Center and park! Clean and neat, with welcoming friendly staff!
Plan to come and stay comfortable in your car for a while. Early voting lines and parking wrap around. The handicap vote by car line snakes thru the parking lot moving at a snail pace while those that were lined up and have made their way thru the inside facilities return to their cars are all blocked by those in line to vote from car. Life with the pandemic. I don’t know how any different planning cloud have improved things but plan to stay for a while in your car as it may take extra time weather you vote inside or outside.
