Kernersville Family YMCA runs the YMCA of Northwest North Carolina's summer day camp at its Kernersville branch, with eleven themed weekly sessions running from late May through the first week of August. The main day camp takes rising 1st-5th graders in age-grouped 'huddles' at a stated 1:15 counselor-to-camper ratio, and a separate teen day camp covers rising 6th-9th graders with cooking, DIY, service-learning and sports activities. Days run Monday to Friday, 7:00am to 6:00pm, with breakfast and lunch provided; families can book five, three or two days a week.
