Camp Caraway

Camp Caraway is a Christian overnight camp on Caraway Mountain in Sophia, operated by Caraway Conference Center and Camps, a ministry of North Carolina Baptists. Its Children's Camp is a weeklong residential program for boys and girls who have completed grades 1-6, who attend as part of a church, school or friend group with their own adult chaperones rather than enrolling individually; the camp requires one gender-specific chaperone for every six children. Days combine lake and pool swimming, zipline, target sports, bazooka ball and hatchet throwing with skill classes and a daily chapel geared to the age group. Weeklong sessions are $425 per person and two- to three-night mini camps are $220, and the operator publishes a scholarships page.

2nd year for church ladies retreat here. Great food & facilities. Elevator. Rooms, dining,& conference room all close together which is great for older women with limited mobility. 1100 acres of gorgeous woods & ponds.

I stayed overnight at the Caraway Conference Center to attend a 2-day academic conference. The room was simple yet comfortable. The cafeteria served buffet style meals and the food was great. The center is on a large campus that includes Camp Caraway with walking trails and a small lake. It is a scenic and peaceful location.

Love the Acorns program at Caraway! Their staff is awesome! It is our favorite field trip to go back to year after year.

My wife and I were here. It’s a beautiful place to be refreshed, encouraged, and inspired. The facility is good with an amazing surrounding. The rooms and conference halls are clean and comfortable. Looking forward to bring my family and friends for a camp or time of reflection.
